Clean as a whistle!

Was skeptical in getting dishwasher w/stainless steel tub, as I'd heard and seen where dishes don't dry and water is left in the tub. Ran my first load last night, and I was more than surprised and pleased at how clean and sparking everything was--and dry! even the plastics! and the tub, too! The only thing I have found to dislike is that the display does not light up when you push the power button--kind of hard to read the choices. But I am very pleased with selecting LG. We also recently purchased a washer, and I've been pleased with that, as well.

Great cleaning quite machine

I bought this a few months back and we are glad we got it, this is the best cleaning dishwasher we have had so far. The third rack seems pointless until you find how it suits small items that never fit anywhere else, then it becomes a great feature. Having so much room and great ability to clean, again, happy with this dishwasher.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings

On my 2nd unit in a month, unit has poor baskets.

the first unit started making a grinding/whirring sound after 3 1/2 weeks. the dishes stopped getting clean. Other than that, even having a second unit, the door doesn't go to the flat position nicely when opened. the latch is a bit tough to open close. the twines aren't properly placed for standard dishes. They roll and do not stay in place. The 3rd rack is useless, both units, it does not roll smoothly in & out. the 2nd rack has to be dropped to lower position, or you can't fit a glass in there. I'm very unimpressed, and this is probably my first and last LG appliance.

Nice looking dishwasher and on the quiet side.

This dishwasher was purchased in July 2015. I find that the dishwasher runs way too long. The bottom rack is always going off track with or without dishes on it when you push the rack back in. The dishes are still wet after the dishwasher runs thru the cycle whether they are on the top rack or the bottom. What a pain! There has been a strange smell coming from the dishwasher when it goes into a cycle. I thought it was because it was so new but the smell has continued. Stainless steel not easy to clean on outside. Control panel is hidden. The place where you put the soap is difficult to close.
Pros: easy to use

Quiet, love the adjustable racks. Love, love the fact that the wine glasses and crystal come out beautifully.

My notes after 5 months of use

Overall we like the dishwasher. It is so quiet we sometimes don't realize it is on standing next to it.
It does get the dishes clean although the tangs do flip down a bit too easy and mentioned in other reviews. I do use the upper 3rd rack although you can't place much up there but knifes, and wooden spoons. I have not had any issue opening and closing this rack as another review had mentioned.
Gripes:
LOWER BASKET: My number one gripe and why I would not recommend it is the bottom rack wheels are not wide enough and cause the basket to easily come off the track. It is a pain to get back on when the rack is full! What I found is that the silverware tray, that is positioned on the right side, gets too much weigh on the rack when filled. This weight imbalance causes the rack to come of the track when pushed in and out. I have sort of solved this by placing the silverware tray in the back but it is not fool proof. If the wheels were 1/4" wider I would have no issue recommending this dishwasher.
LG: if you have a wider wheels to replace the current ones, please let me know!
TIMING LIGHT: The cycle timer is on top of the door. That means I have bend down to look between the counter and the door to see how much time is left. It would have been nice to have this on the front of the door.
CYCLE LIGHTS: The system flashes a blue cycle light as the dishwasher is running. It is extremely bright and can light up your whole kitchen at night when running. I ended up putting some liquid paper over the light to tone it down. The green "clean light" only stays on for 4 mins unless you program it to remain on until the door is opened. (in the user manual)
Pros: easy to use

Dishes will not stand up, no matter what we do.

We're not idiots. We have read the manual cover-to-cover, followed the loading instructions, AND watched LG's videos about how to properly load this dishwasher. Yet our dishes will not stand up in the lower rack. They collapse on top of each other like dominos, which then prevents the dishes from getting cleaned properly. We own fiesta ware and the plates are definitely heavy, but they are not abnormal or uncommon. We are actually returning this dishwasher and getting a different product in the hopes that it will work with our dishes. If you are thinking about buying this, I suggest bringing 5-6 large plates with you to the store to check if your dishes will work in it or not. We were very surprised by this, as we have always loved LG products.

Bottom shelf will NOT stay on the tracks
on January 4, 2016

I bought this about 2 months ago. It looks nice and cleans well. But, I didn't heed the warnings about the poor design of the rollers/rails on the lower rack. I don't see how in the world this product passed QA with dishes loaded into the dishwasher. The probability of successfully pushing in the loaded rack is less than a 50% chance. It is probably closer to 25% - 30% probability of success. Shocking! I literally have to straddle the machine and pick up the rack to align it back on the rails. Is that something you want to do daily?
LG - please send parts to fix this. Isn't is as easy as extending the base of the wheels so that it stays on the rails? This is crazy.
