Extremely pleased

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have an open floorplan and were looking for a quiet dishwasher that does a great job with dishes. I don't want to have to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, and this dishwasher delivers! It is effective and unbelievably quiet. We also love the additional 3rd drawer, the ability to adjust the tines to fit whatever we throw in, and the headroom for taller pans. Finally, it is great to be able to put plastic in the bottom drawer. The one minor drawback is that we always have to add extra time by using the extra dry cycle, when putting plastics in. Otherwise, they come out wet.
Pros: Performance

Bad Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poor design . Control are difficult to see. Tines won't hold up dishes result in poor cleaning. My 20 year old Maytag put this to shame. If I could ,I would return this machine in a second!

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher a month ago and have been disappointed with the service I have received. I paid a little more thinking the LG brand would be better than most. Twice the dishwasher has displayed a code that meant that the water had not completely drained. Actually it had but there is a little water/moisture that stayed in one of the sensors. Since the unit continues to run with this error I had to flip the breaker in my kitchen to turn it off This means that the other appliances in the kitchen could not be used either. I had to wait 3 days for the first visit by a technician. They could not find anything and wrote it up that the unit may have been damaged during transport/shipping in case the problem occurred again. It did occur again 3 days later. This time LG wanted to bring in another technician for a second opinion. This second technician looked at it, told me it is because my kitchen floor is not level, and that he could not level the dishwasher. His solution was for me to level the floor. I think this is ridiculous. The guys that installed the dishwasher didn't have a problem with this and the first technician to come out did not either. Not many kitchen floors are level especially in older homes. I can't believe LG would build dishwashers that could only work in homes with level kitchen floors. I am very disappointed with this because I have a dishwasher that doesn't work and the only solution is for me to fix the floor in my kitchen. I do wish I had bought another brand. The bad thing is that I also purchased a refrigerator, range, and microwave. I think the dishwasher should either be replaced or I should be allowed to return it and purchase another brand that doesn't require level floors.

Awful racks
on November 22, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Every prong on the lower and glassware racks is adjustable. I thought that was a fabulous feature - - that I'd be able to customize the racks so that I could load it efficiently - - so that's why I bought this model. Boy was I mistaken...

After much experimenting, I load dinner plates across the back. The prongs are vertical and the slots aren't offset from the prongs, so my plates fall over at a 45-degree angle. Since I'm supposed to load plates facing the center, that means that I have to load from both side. Since the plates fall forward, that means I need to leave about six inches of space between the facing rows.
After much experimenting, I load salad/sandwich plates and cereal bowls across the front. I have to fold down the center of the front-three rows of prongs. That means the bar that holds the center prongs juts up right where I want the middle of those plates to slot into the space between prongs. Which means that those plates can't be centered between the prongs - - which means that they go sliding around every time I pull out the dishware rack to insert another plate.
There is one row - - the far left - - on the glassware rack that works well. The second-from-left is too narrow (the prongs on that row can spread out, but that doesn't help when the space between the bottom of those racks is too narrow). The support bars on the bottom of the glassware rack are too far apart. That means that my glasses often fall over because they don't span three bars (none have been smashed, yet). The wineglass supports seemed like a good idea. However, every other wine-glass notch lines up directly with the bars on the base of the rack, which means that half of those notches can't be used, because the wine glasses can't sit in the slot between the base bars.
The silverware rack manages to be simultaneously mama bear and papa bear: The knife supports are oriented for knives to oriented from front to back - - they are too far from the wall, so the knives slide out of their slots every time I open or close the silverware rack. Meanwhile, the fork/spoon slots are oriented side-to-side. My dinner forks (which are not huge!) simply don't fit.
On the other hand, this dishwasher is amazingly quiet.
I own an LG refrigerator, washer, and dryer. My extremely positive experience with those appliances is a big part of why I chose this dishwasher. Oops!

Lots of wash options

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are so many different options for this dishwasher - not just cycle and rinse choices, but also configurations for the racks, etc. - that it sometimes can be difficult to figure out which one to use. With a few months experience, I've finally got the hang of it. I would recommend keeping liquid detergent on hand, because if you have a small load, the detergent pods have too much detergent and the dishes can get a film.

Racks fall continually and now a wheel broke off
on March 16, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher has been the most frustrating appliance I have ever owned. I recently purchased ALL NEW LG appliances AND washer and dryer. The dishwasher Immediately had a problem with the "adjustable" racks. The racks can be placed flat or in the typical upright position and they continually fall to the flat position. Each time I place a plate or bowl into the dishwasher I have to readjust the racks to hold items. The rack brackets are not secure enough. I had a repair guy come out but he replaced the rack brackets with the exact same purple brackets. They were actually "tighter" for 3 weeks but now they are falling over continuously. As of this week a wheel broke off of the bottom rack so the rack now need to be lifted into and out of the dishwasher. For reference, only 2 adults are in the household. I'm contemplating ditching this lemon and buying a brand new one--Of course, if that is the case this will be my last LG.

Quiet and Sleek Looking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my dishwasher for 4 months and love it. It's quiet and sleek looking, and matches my kitchen full of LG appliances. I love the adjustable 3rd rack, although I don't use it as often as I should. My only complaint is that the lowest rack doesn't stay on track. Each time I pull out that bottom rack just a little too quick or crooked, it comes off the track.
