eco tank not so great.

I really had high hopes for this printer. The idea behind it is fantastic. But I have had nothing but trouble with it the first one went out within six months one of the colors jammed, and i was sent a replacement, a recondition one, which looked brand-new. It was shipped to me May19 2016 and here it is four months later and it won't print any yellow! The one thing I will say for Epson is they have top-notch customer service. I have had nothing but good phone calls with them but I should've goten a workforce because this eco-tank is really bumming me out. It cost so much money and then it fails on you. I expected a lot more run time out of this printer, I was wrong I haven't given up on them yet but I'm very close. I hope nobody else had these problems but for some reason I certainly have. I definitely would not buy another one. For the price of this one I could've had three or four workforce printers. It hasn't even run two reams of paper. That's crazy.

I have had this printer for about 3 months, basically almost as soon as it was available I bought it. It works great, setup is very easy as far as I am concerned.
One issue is very annoying though, every few weeks it drops off the network and the front panel "ON" button stops working with the result that LCD panel does not light up. Solution for me is to unplug the power cable for 5 seconds and then plug it in again.
The other demerit is the LCD screen small size and navigating it. I have had at least 2 other printers recently that had a far better user interface.
Have not needed to add ink yet, only the black show signs of use, and very little at that . Probably would have needed a black ink cartridge with any of my older printers by now.
If it just did not drop the wireless connection on occasion I would give it 4.5 stars. Improve the user interface and I would be in love with it.

Over all the printer is good, it delivers what Epson said. The two things I do not like 1 Back loading paper. 2 No two sided printing

Bought this printer because I was tired of buying ink refills. after a month its working great, used little ink and we printed around 200 pages. Now I don't have to run to get more ink. THE BEST PART!

Purchased the Epson ET-2550 for two reasons, first Epson works better with my Apple computers, phones, and tablets, second I LOVE the ink tank concept, less to recycle and waste, plus more economical. Epson wins hands down on this one.

The reason why I say this is because I got the first printer and there was a damaged print head. I tried everything to get it to print without lines. Cleaned the heads about 20 or more times calibrated it several times and flushed the print pad. Returned it and got another. Worked for 3 weeks and the lines started again. Cleaned the heads again more then 10 times and calibrated them. Tried the Flush print heads /pad again. this time it worked. Unfortunately when you do the flush it decreases the life of the print pad. which means once the pad is spent the printer will stop working completely and you have to call Epson. the printer is a month old now and I shouldn't have to have all these problems. I print everyday.

Setting up the ET-2550

When I first read about the Epson EcoTank idea I was intrigued, because I had become frustrated with frequent cartridge changes, especially the expense and inconvenience. I took advantage of the $50 trade-in on my old Epson WF-6250 and brought home a new ET-2550. Filling the ink tanks was a snap, but I was careful to wear vinyl gloves and spread some newspaper, just in case. Setting up the Wi-Fi was a bit tricky until I realized how to enter my password. Everything else was smooth, including downloadsing the latest software and drivers. I have made a few copies and printed a random item, just to see if everything works---and it does. The scanning and print quality is excellent as well. So far, so good!
