AN ARTIST'S DREAM PRINTER..Time to CREATE!
on January 24, 2016

I am an Animal Artist and make my living creating T-shirts and Graphics of my Animal Art...I set up at DOG Events and Arts and Craft shows and have always been VERY Limited as to how much I could create on a weekend due to High Ink Costs and the feeling that I was getting ready to run out of ink... I was astounded and excited to hear about the new Epson EcoTank printers because Epson has always been my favorite brand of printer...I was so Hoping that it would be the Printer I could Create ALL the PaperCrafts, Graphics & T-shirts that I wanted too...and sure enough not only is the Print Quality EXCELLENT but it's SUPER FAST and does print 2 sided easily (even though it's not automatic 2 sided it's NO problem with the easy on screen instructions) I print a lot of my Children's Books and Art books they are ALL 2 sided! SO BRAVO EPSON...YOU HAVE MADE THIS ARTIST'S DREAM COME TRUE!

So Promising!

I finally set up my new Epson 2550. It was so much easier than I had made it out to be in my head! Following the directions, as written, and the process flowed easily. Tip: When filling the ink tanks, use two hands to squeeze the bottle, have the cap on an absorbent pad/napkin right below the tank, and give the last few drops of ink a half-a-minute to drip down and out of the bottle before capping and discarding it. I was intimidated, and a little too gentle with the Cyan, and I now have one Cyan Hand. The last few drops cover A LOT of skin! (I don't keep gloves in my home.)

Good color - crooked paper

Had the printer for about a month. Easy to set up. We have one laptop that won't connect - it's only a year old.
Use it for kids homework/ projects. Paper always prints at an angle. The color looks good, but crooked paper makes reports look bad. Would love to know if there is a solution. I'm using the paper size adjuster.

Fantastic Unit

The printer installed easily on both Windows 8.1 and Windows XP machines.
The large ink capacity is the reason I bought it, and i am not disappointed. I printed a book in color (300+ pages) and still have over 50% of each tank remaining.
Good quality printing of photos as well as scans.

Good Product/ Install Needs Work
on February 28, 2016

After 3 failed attempts to install and encountering install aborts, I upgraded my OS from 7 Pro to 10. The install under 10 ran exactly as it was supposed to - every thing worked on the first attempt.
Although I was planning to eventually upgrade, this hardware/ software in stall forced the issue. So be prepared for extra work if you are not using Win 10. This is the sole reason for a rating <5 stars.
As to the print quality, IT LOOKS GREAT!! I am glad I made the purchase. I have already had customers ask about this printer as we have many small businesses who are customers. All like the idea of the economical price of the ink and the print quality.

new all-in-one printer

I love using this ET-2550 printer. It is relatively compact and filling the inkwells was easy. We will likely not need to purchase new ink for one year. Set-up was easy and using the on-line manual was smooth. It took a few minutes to use the scanning mode correctly for the first time but from now on it will be easy. Finally, I love having Wi-Fi printing and it saves us from needing another cord.

Inexpensive Ink; Good Service

Have had the printer for a month or so. It seems to work quite well. I got it to reduce ink costs, and so far I'm pleased. Initially I was unable to use the draft quality setting. The Epson chat line provided immediate, expert help. The expert suggested several setting changes and ultimately found that installing the Epson drivers rather than the Mac drivers solved the problem. I had made the wrong choice when I set up the printer. The 2550 works well. And the customer service is excellent.

the set up went smoothly after speaking with Alex on the Epson help line. I had had problem downloading the drivers from a cd after purchasing a new computer.
