Initial Setup

I was able to successfully and quickly with the start up manual. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. Please make sure you following the steps around adding the ink to the printer as using disposable gloves is a necessity. Once the printer was set up, I didn't experience any issues with connecting the printer to my laptop, android phone, and my desktop. I was able to print right away. The only issue I experienced was there were ink stains on the test pages which I assume will disappear as I continue to print.

New Wireless Printer

Just bought and set up the Epson ET-2550. Set up was easy. Took a little while but everything worked great and linked to my wireless with no problems at all. Test page printed excellent and looks good. Filling the tanks was easy. Just make sure you put something under the printer in case you spill some ink. I had no problems at all. Hopefully this will be a great printer for us. I like the refill ink idea. Sure beats the expensive cartridges.

No more ink problems, goes comatose twice a month
on April 22, 2016

My wife used to bother me about the ink cartridges drying up and the head clogging on my old ink jets. Now she doesn't bother me about that. However, twice a month or so, after periods of inactivity, this printer goes into a coma where the screen goes black and it doesn't respond to any buttons or data until I yank its power cord. The recent bios update did not help in this regard. It's still an okay printer, but mark its power cord so you can hard reboot the machine easily.

Love the Eco, Don't Love the Quality
on September 14, 2016

I really wanted to give this a great rating. I have been so frustrated with other printers that waste so much money and resources with inks that dry up quickly. I love the idea of the eco tank! Thank you Epson.
As a graphic designer who prints some elements in house, I have not loved the quality. I want crisper printing and better coverage - no lines when I have graphics covering a page.
And if you are attempting to print any size other than letter, this machine is not user friendly. I also find it very behind the times in being able to print double sided. Shouldn't an Eco printer make that easy? Please improve upon a great idea, Epson. Pay attention to how it should be used.

Switch from XP810 to ET 2550
on November 15, 2015
Posted by: Bob

It is Only 1 1/2 hrs after initial setup. Seems like I'm rather disapointed having given my XP810 away last evaning. Seems like I have taken several steps backwards. Slower printing, Photo paper requires complete switch, letter to photo. Photo print quality just fine however slow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

ET Epson 2550 ecotank

I have used Epson printers for the last 25 years because I print my own glossy paper brochures. The print quality has always been like a photograph. My present printer needed replacing after printing what must be many thousands of pages When I saw this printer with ink tanks I had to have one. So much better than ink cartridges Epson still have that quality I need.
