Right at this moment I'm not happy with the picture printing which is what I want most. I really haven't done much adjusting Maybe that will help I hope, but that is my review at this time.

Shazam!

The Epson ET-2550 EcoTank printer can be described by the above word . . . SHAZAM!!!
This is the awesome feeling I experienced as my first photo came off the printer, or should I say "printing press". I exceeded vision as Epson told me to do and used Ultra Premium Paper, Glossy.
I have a higher end 35mm digital camera with a 300mm telephoto lens. This is not your grandfather's Instamatic camera. It's high TECH.
Boy, did this workhorse ever deliver! The overall quality, resolution, in addition to its impeccable sharpness was simply outstanding.
Well done Epson, well done!
My elation should continue for approximately the next two years according to Epson.
The days of searching the cartridge or ribbon aisle for ZRT-43876 or a 62 black cartridge in XL or XXL. I don't have to remember to bring my bank with me should I choose to purchase the color cartridges sold separately or together (whichever is more expensive and less convenient for me, the customer, as opposed to the company).
Picture yourself (I know you've all been there): Shoving a perfectly good printer into the back of a closet on top of another perfectly good printer, simply due to the fact that the printer ribbon would be twice as much as a new printer. We all know that we were fooling ourselves thinking we would actually use or sell aforementioned printers.
Epson, again, thank you and I'm very sorry (but not really) for all you competitors that actually have to be innovative and not hang out in my back pocket or ones' pocket book. The siege is over.
The more I think of it , the more i am reminded of the incessant cries of desperation and despair of fellow workers or students. The constant cussing and or fist pounding upon these expensive relics.
The embarrassment caused and the damage done will be etched upon my soul forever.
All those displays , All those advertisements, All that mail from a multitude of retailers and wholesalers, just memories.
i don't think we can thank epson enough. I don't know how we did it for so long.
it was a monopoly that should have been broken up a long time ago.
Buy it, Relax , Enjoy.
Brad

I just purchased this printer, didn't know it would not print borderless, I think thats a sorry shame. I would not have purchased it if I knew that.

Get with the program?

Obviously, Epson didn't get the memo: You sell the printers cheap, and then you recoup the price many times over by selling expensive proprietary ink cartridges. Some people will run into a barrier to entry with the higher price of the printer, so Epson will lose some "impulse" sales. I think they're making a smart move, though. A lot of people are tired of the "We'll get you later" marketing tactics, and prefer to pay for what they use. I hope the ink in the tanks has a long shelf life, though, as it might be four years before I have to refill them. If the refills are that cheap, though, perhaps they've foreseen a way to flush the tanks and refill with fresh ink after two years?

Excellent Product

Bought the ET-2550 just a few weeks ago. Set-up was a breeze and glitch-free. Pouring of ink into the four reservors requires a bit of care to avoid spillage or splashing, but nothing out of the ordinary. The printer is compact, light weight, and takes up significantly less space on my desk than did the previous printer; it has a comparatively low profile too and just "looks good" on the desk. Print quality is very good (though some reviews of the past year give it a gig on print quality and I can not agree with those reviews). A quality product with superior performance - and it looks good!

A set up challenge

Documentation, set up instructions - especially Wi-Fi are not good. It took me about 3-4 hours to work through everything.

So far, so good

Bought it last night. Setup took about an hour with connection to a PC and a Mac. No issues with setup. The prints look very good. Main reason I bought this model is because of the advertised long-term savings on ink. My wife is a teacher and she prints a ton. Seems we were buying $50 worth of cartridges every week or 2.
