Great set-up

I just got my Epson Printer and must say the set-up was really easy (once I got the hang of small letter's.) Anyway, it printed the test sheets very well and I can't wait to really start using it. Thank you Epson, for so far a great new printer.Oh, loading the ink was super easy as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Linux Install and WiFi Issues
on March 18, 2016

Excellent Product Idea. A little rough around the edges, but really good concept.
My experiences: I have a dual boot PC: Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 10.
The Linux setup is: 1-Unnecessarily complicated. a-Assumes user is Linux geek b-Causes user to infer system information. 2-Does not set up WiFi at all. 3-Requires use of printer WiFi setup. a-Printer Setup: (1)Does not allow for long password.[21 char password was stopped at 8 chars when printer tried to use the 8 chars already entered.] (2)Does not allow editing continuation after password failure. 4-Does not provide a repository for standard Linux updates. 5-Should use standard "apt-get install ... " for Ubuntu/Debian distros, and use equivalents for other major distros. Epson could provide Ubuntu updates to Ubuntu repositories, etc.
The Windows 10 setup is: 1-Intrusive enough that it gets Printer WiFi password from Win 10 connect data vice from installer. a-This is a serious security breach. b-Points out a big weakness in Windows 10. 2-Does not allow for USB AND WiFi connections simultaneously.
Printer Concerns: Printer test page heading streaked colors, but Linux print of color image was good. Win S/W needs update.
P.S. I retired as a communications-electronics Test Engineer from Lockheed-Martin in 2012.

I bought this printer after reading reviews online which were most positive. After using this product I have came to a conclusion that I did a mistake by purchasing this printer for my business.
I am currently having these issues: 1. printer prints really slow and takes much longer than my old printer to print. 2. Every single day I have to reset and connect the printer to my computer.
Over all I would not recommend this printer to anyone.
Pros: you don't need to spend money every month to replace ink.
Cons: prints slow. Wifi issues

Wireless made difficult

This is a great printer -- except for the difficulty in connecting to my home Wi-Fi network. I have spent hours trying to establish the connection, following the step-by-step instructions, only to fail each time.
Sadly, I don't have a 12-year-old at home to assist in the set-up so will eventually have to seek support by phone. I'd been assured by the salesman that the wireless set-up would be simple and quick.

No CD/DVD Printing
on February 7, 2016

These printers do not have the option to print on CD/DVD. A major factor to purchase Epson printers is to get this feature. I'll have to wait until Epson puts one of these EcoTank printers with CD/DVD printing on the market.

Easy!

I was a little skeptical about having to do this on my own, but setup was a snap! I had no mess because I followed Epson's instructions completely and it quickly was connected to my network. I find it a little slow and think maybe I should have gotten a better model, but I am very satisfied with my decision so far. Print quality is good and I love knowing that I won't run out of ink.

My New ET- 2550

Set up out of the box was easy. I use the new printer with my MAC. The set up disk worked on the MAC without a problem. It connected to my Wi-Fi without a problem (just need to have your password when setting up). The print test, etc. all went without a hitch. My only regret is not using gloves as they recommended when filling the ink tanks. You should do this to keep from getting some ink on your hands. That was my fault. Look forward to using it!
