Good printer, low ink cost, but missing features

The ET-2550 has acceptable print quality on plain paper and excellent print quality on glossy paper. I am using this printer with Ubuntu 16.04, using the driver in the Ubuntu repositories. There are some features that this printer lacks, including CD/DVD printing and borderless printing. When printing on plain paper I sometimes notice that there are streaks through the printout, even after aligning and cleaning the heads. This is not an issue on photo paper. It is possible to eliminate the streaking by using the third-party Gutenprint driver for the Epson L210 and setting the quality to 1440 DPI or better, although doing so will make printing slower because this driver does overlapping passes of the print head.

The main problem with this printer is the black nozzle. I bought the ET-2550 in Feb. 2016 and it never printed the black properly even after I went through all of Epson's cleaning protocols. Finally, I phoned Epson and was pleased that they sent a replacement in a day! Very impressed.
The first thing I did after setting the printer up was to print a test page, and guess what? I still have problems with the black nozzle. However, this time it isn't so bad, i.e., it prints OK so I'm going to keep it rather than ask for another replacement and go through the whole setup process again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent in theory, awful in practice

Bought this printer and regret it immensely. It grabs the paper crooked nearly everytime and we have fiddled with it to exhaustion. I cannot handle cardstock most of the time either. Also, not very good color matching. Our lid broke immediately. Can't recommend.

Wireless not working

Installation was complicated, an assistant helped me by the phone on an almost 30 min call, after that was working great, but the very next day wireless wasn't working at all, I have no idea what happened , I'm using a cable but I can't use it with iPhone or iPad :(

The printer does a nice job on color photos. I've had it now for about 6 months and really appreciate it. Allows easy printing from my iPhone and Surface Pro. But the best feature is of course the large ink supply. Would recommendthis product.

I have been looking for a compact reasonably priced printer for years. The cost of ink has kept me at the low end of the printer market and I've paid the price (literally) for it in ink cartridges. Enter Epson's EcoPrint. The price is a little more than I'm used to paying but is well worth it. It is a compact and quiet printer with refillable ink tanks. The print quality is EXCELLENT!!! It does take some time setting up but I couldn't be MORE PLEASED!!! Epson, EcoTank is INCREDIBLE!!! Keep up the innovations and you have a customer and salesperson for life. I won't stop talking about it!!!

Great printer...Terrible software

Epson has yet to get its wireless connection software right....again, it simply does not allow you to connect wirelessly....I have to use a USB connection....The printer itself is outstanding and I would give it 5 stars for printing....buying a wireless printing feature should not be difficult....I am a strong tech person....their hardware is great, software is non usable...
