I really like my Epson ET-2550 it will go a long time with out replacing the ink, but it prints a little slow
and the service and support group are very good.
My machine started printing like it was low on ink
skipping letters, etc. and I called service and they sent me out another machine and I sent my old one back with no charge, just great.

I love this printer! Really smart, economical method to deal with ink. I don't hardly flip out anymore when I hear my kids using the thing!

Good First Effort @ Tank Printer

Your first effort at a tank printer is a good one.
The Good: Ink is cheap, easy to fill, and lasts as long as you claimed it would.
Needs Improvement: Print quality is below average with horizontal lines in photos. Scanner will not communicate wirelessly, to memory card, or USB drive -> very disappointing. Must connect computer using USB cord to utilize scanning. Memory card reader will not print a page of photos directly from memory card, even though it has card reader.
Recommendations to Fix Challenges: All can be fixed in this model by having software update made to address them.

Freedom from ink cartridges

This is an excellent printer, very good immage, easy to operate. It copies and scans very well. I really like the fact that I no longer have to spend a fortune on ink. I highly recommend this printer.

Great and effective printing technology

After using color and b&w laser printers for several years for my business and private needs, the time came to upgrade to newer technology. In doing my due deligence I was astounded to discover how expensive laser cartridges have become and what the real cost per page actually was. I decided to explore inkjet printing, and confirmed ink cartridge printing was not much different from laser regarding cost and quality.
Then I discovered the EcoTank technology from Epson and after a comparative cost-analysis was really impressed by how cost-effective this was, on a cost per page basis, when compared to the alternatives. The next step was to check the quality of printing in color, especially photo printing. The result was, as expected based on Epson's reputation for photo printing, quite good.
Based on this I traded two large laser printers (one color and one b&w) for the EPSON ET-2550 EcoTank and have been using it for the past six months.
I am quite satisfied, it is simple and easy to use, the quality is excellent, and my cost per page is a fraction of what it used to be. Some of the multi-function features, such as copying or scanning, are not as effective for my needs, but in regards to printing I am totally satisfied. I do have an EPSON V550 scanner that I use for copying and scanning, which is much more effective. So, I am good.

I have owned many printers of another popular brand and this is my first experience with Epson. It is far superior to any other printer that I have used before.
Really nice not to have to change ink cartridges so often and a real money saving feature.
Great paper feed system, simple and effective.
Quiet and fast printing, not one negative about this fine printer.

I have learned how to use the printer. I think the the
printer is very good at this point. I love not have get
ink every month. This one I hope it will last a long
time. I say about 3 or 4 years or longer.

Good, but could be better

I found it relatively easy to set up (and I'm not a techie) and I loved the prospect of not having to buy cartridges for two years. The WiFi is a plus but the noisey operation is not. Very disappointed that there is no feeder for making multiple copies like my previous Epson.
Overall I'm happy and feel that the ink tanks will make up for any other deficits.
