Good printer but not user friendly.

I have a love/hate relationship with this printer. It is not user friendly in many ways. When I want to change settings it will not comply or it will change and then not go back to default. Hard to see this very small screen with so much to have to read on it. But, it does print beautifully and the ink savings are tremendous so I will keep it for now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy Setup and Useful Functions
on January 8, 2019
Posted by: Mississauga Michael
Bought this about an hour ago to replace an HP 7520 that failed after 4 years of dutiful service. Chose Epson b/c of the Supertank feature foremost, but for both the document feeder and 100 sheet capacity paper holder - both great features for the price point. Setup was super easy, wifi worked superbly from the start, and even the email print feature worked first time like a charm (my son was on a bus and sent a test page from his phone and it worked perfectly). Some of the instructions about remote print and email print are not very intuitive and the online resources (even YouTube) are not very clear . . . also, registering your device for warranty is not intuitive and is separate from registering your device for Epson Connect.I also like the control features over who can print and who can print by email . . . still cannot figure out the "remote" print feature and not alot of help with this on the documentation or online. Only question is . . . why include a CD in the package . . . how has CD's on their computers / tablets / devices these days ??? LCD screen could be a bit bigger, but it is workable.
Time will tell if the print quality is there, the wifi and functionality is reliable and most importantly if I see the 80% reduction in cost per page printed.
The ONE MISLEADING thing that really riles me up with marketers everyone (and Epson is no exception) is that the box states that the printer includes enough ink for 14,000 pages B&W AND(or was that OR) 11,200 pages of colour print . . . what they FAIL to tell you is that they included 2 sets of ink bottles with your initial purchase. When companies do this, it really annoys me! It is VERY misleading as most consumers compare spec to spec based on the package and you would be SOLD into believing that this printer deliver twice the printing and ink efficiency (ergo 1/2 the cost) of competitors. This is simply NOT true . . . and you won;t see this in the retailer spec sheet of "what is included in the box".
Epson would have gotten a 5* rating from me (to this point) if it weren't for their "sneaky" marketing tactics . . . buyer beware of the facts!

Have had unit for more than one month and operation has been flawless! My only complaint is small LCD interactive display. Display works fine, but at my age it is hard to see from more than 12 inches away....No more ink cartridges-GREAT!!!!

This printer has been a beast printing for the last few months! We struggled with the initial purchase price, but it has SAVED us money from what we would have spent on cartridges! The print quality is excellent and we are thrilled with this product. Thank You!!
