Love this All in One

I love this EcoTank all in one printer! It works well, prints relatively fast and saves me a lot in ink replacement. Our office had an all in one laser printer that worked well for years, but the cost of the toner was so high that when we had an opportunity to purchase the EcoTank, we did. We have never regretted it. Would be nice if it had a dedicated check printing bypass, and it is a bit convoluted to print two sided, but the cost savings make it so worth it. And filling the tanks is easy. I do use those inexpensive, disposable gloves so there is virtually no mess. Such a good product!

Definitely a good buy

Over the years, I've had a few different printers and have found Epson to be a very good brand, so when the last printer I had started getting old (an Epson, also), I decided to try the latest they had to offer. My 4550 EcoTank has worked great, for a rating of 4+ (if I had the ability to give fractional star ratings) out of 5, which I will tell you about. It takes a couple seconds to start a print job, but it does so quietly, quickly and very clearly with excellent photo quality even when you enlarge a high-quality or even sometimes medium quality print. And I've found the feature of sending something (any photo/document from your pc/phone/tablet/device) from anywhere in the world, really (provided you have the printer's individual email), to be printed out immediately is fantastic! I also love the idea & economy of having ink tanks in the printer as opposed to cartridges that run out often and have to be replaced, usually at inconvenient times and costly. Since purchasing it last December, I've done quite a bit of printing and haven't had to refill the tanks once. The only negative thing I have to say about the printer, which is what keeps me from giving it a perfect 5, is that every once in a while (in the 6 months I've had the printer, it has happened 3 times, but not since the last update patch in early march, I think it was), it won't print a job unless you turn off the printer and restart it. It doesn't give a reason and won't say anything in the cue if you open it, but it won't print and to turn it off you have to unplug it to cut power. But when you do this and restart a couple min later, it works great again!

Worth EVERY penny!

Ok. The price tag will frighten a lot of customers away, but let me be the first to tell you than this AIO printer is worth every penny! I have been waiting a long time for a printer company to break from the pack and depart from the printer ink cartridge design. The EcoTank printer is THE solution! Imagine being able to print for 2 YEARS before refilling the ink wells?! This is no longer an imaginary dream. Add to this the excellent print quality, good print speed, the convenience of adding in a fax/scanner, wireless network printing, wireless direct printing and memory card printing and you have the stuff of legends. My only two complaints are that the wireless printing data transmission speed is somewhat lacking. It can take a LONG time for the data to transmit from your laptop to the printer before it begins printing, and I have the best wireless router on the market. I overcame this by connecting it via a LAN hardline instead. Second, the LCD screen is simply tiny for this caliber of machine. LCD screens are cheep, and there really isn't an excuse for a small LCD screen anymore. That being said, these are small issues, and not deal-breakers for me. I would recommend this printer to anyone from the average home user to the small office. Great job Epson!

Innovative Printer

This printer is all that it is said to be as far as high capacity ink tanks. It has been used over and over again and the ink levels in the tanks have barely moved. The all-in-one could use more information on it's use as it is difficult to navigate the options and much time and paper have been wasted trying to do so.

ET 4550 Performance

I am a recent purchaser of this model and am satisfied with performance with one exception. I find that the paper tray is poorly designed. I experience frequent claims of 'paper jam' or 'out of paper' when it is not necessarily the issue, and I believe it is due to what I can best describe as a 'flimsy' paper control tray'. But the print quality and economic ink replacement factors make the purchase well worth it. I would still recommend it.

Good printer

Print quality is excellent. The speed is not very fast but it is worth it for the print quality. At least is seems slow when you get used to laser printers. I really like the idea of having low cost ink replacement. My other jet printers are way to costly to refill, even with separate cartridges for each color and they just don't seem to print very many pages before the cartridges need replacing.
It would have been nice to have just the printer. (For me and I know a lot of other people, faxes are a thing of the past, and the scanner, while making a good scan, is simplex and SLOOOWWWW).

I love this printer. Our old printer was a money pit. couldn't go long before putting new ink in it. now you can't find ink to put in it. this new printer has ultra high capacity ink tanks. we already printed 50 pages for our daughter, which would have taken 1/3 to 1/2 our ink in the old printer, it didn't even make a dent in the tanks. also the printing was really good. again I say I love this printer and have already recommended it to someone.

I have this printer for a couple months now and it has performed flawlessly. I like the liquid ink wells. The type of ink is why I purchased it I believe I will get many more pages of print for the cost of the ink. So Iwould rather pay more for the printer and less for the ink.
