The ET 4550 is a non-brainer pick for those looking to save money and who isn't? You It's a powerful printer with multiple functions and meets the average customer and even business customer's every day demands. I can also speak of Epson's customer service. I had some technical difficulties with my printer and Epson took care of it without any issues.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Printer works very well and amazing on ink.
The scanner software is a problem and has to be downloaded often for it to function.

Ease of Setup

Just Set this Printer up for the first time.
All I can say is that the setup was spotless, all worked well without incidence, including setting up the device to my home network.
It sinks properly with all my Apple products as well as my Laptop and Desk Top Computers.
It takes time to carefully fill the Ink Tanks to avoid any Splatter or Spills, It became easier with each Ink bottle. I might have lost only a single drop between the four Ink bottles.
I am looking forward to not buying Ink Cartridges every other time I have a large Print job.
Epson has always been a great product over the years when I bought my first Color Ink Jet Printer way back in the days of my Pentium 486sx PC.
Looking forward to many years of hassle free print jobs.

4550 EcoTank

It is nice being able to print a large number of pages week after week without having to stop and change ink cartridges. I typically print 130 or more two sided copies in a session, 2000 or more a week.
Pluses:
Outstanding ink life and cost. The large bottles of ink last me over four months and cost less than one set of the old ink cartridges I was changing two to three tines a week.

The print head runs cooler than other models and print quality stats high instead of dropping off after a couple hundred non-stop copies.
It was easy to setup and smoothly handles input multiple devices, including air print from our cell phones.
It handles heavy weight sheets such as 40# paper and bulk labels without jamming or requiring single sheet feeding.
The multiple page document feed is a great feature.
Minuses:
The small paper tray (150 sheets) needs to be larger. I have been spoiled in the past with larger trays.

Quiet mode does not work well. I don't use it due to frequent feed errors and paper jams. Having to clear a problem every 10-15 copies is unacceptable. In normal mode the failure is less than one every 500 or so.
The possible leakage from the ink tanks means I still have several other printers for road trips. This is a great office/home printer but it does not travel well.
It would be an even better printer if the document feeder could handle unattended two sided copies and scans, Blank side reject and higher scanning speeds.
Overall the Epson WorkForce ET-4550 EcoTank all in one printer has been a great addition to my home office and I am considering adding a second one. I think these should be in every home.

No ink worries any longer

I love it. I don't have to think about printing before I do it now, I love the services connected to it, that you can scan and save in the cloud, and that I and others can print from somewhere else directly to my printer, these conveniences are great. The only complaint I would have is the printer is very basic and archaic for the price, it's very hard to get to certain basic controls like making a copy lighter or darker, they could have put a little more technology into the printer, just because it has an endless ink tank doesn't mean technology is no longer important.

filling the ink was simple and without incident. I have not used it all that much yet but am satisfied so far. The only complaint that I have is this:
I have a phone/answering machine hooked up. When I get a call that someone does not leave a message, the Epson takes a little long to release the phone for use. it is looking for a fax signal and the caller has hung up it takes around five seconds to release the phone for use.

Epson ET-4550 Review

I really like to ink capacity and not having constantly to run out for cartridges. The photo print quality is excellent. The on;y downside to the printer is having to manually adjust for the different paper used such as matte or gloss. Should be able to manage that from computer or automatically from printer. It is annoying.
