Very nice printer but ...

I have replaced an hp officejet 6700 with this one primarily because of the ink tanks. For the record, the hp printer is much easier to set up and connected to my network with no issue.
The setup of the epson printer has some issues. When adding the printer to my mac, it only sees the epson fax and not the printer.
After going through the ink charging (20 min), I set up the fax and could not get out of the process and had to turn off the printer and back on.
The LCD screen is weak, again the hp printer is a touch screen making the set up - what little I had to do - much easier to do.
Time will tell if I have made the right decision.

I purchased this to get away from the small cartridges that was costing a small fortune. Setup was easy and flawless, very impressed, print quality is excellent. Thank you for finally inventing this.

Only had about a month. Bought primarily for, and really like, the ink tank system. Easy set up. A bit to many 'at the printer' selections to make when printing envelopes and such. Still trying to get used to. Not as intuitive as my older HP OfficeJet Pro's but got tired of replacing the inks at the cost of a small printer! Also getting used to the print options, but default 'standard' print quality is a bit disappointing. Probably a good trade off to save ink and just have to remember to increase print quality prior to printing quality doc's. Also like the quiet mode option but not sure why you would have a noisy mode to begin with. For the cost of the printer it would be nice to have a larger, more advanced, LCD screen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After more than a month of use, we are satisfied with this feature-filled printer. Print output is very good. NEGATIVES: 1. NOISY printing! 2. Non-intuitive menu on the tiny screen. A significant improvement would be to make the command menu available via a window tool on the user's PC.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm trying to set this up but the setup process did not work... So I direct connected it and there is still something wrong with the initial setup.... it refers to 'manual setup' in the manual - manual has not such entry

The printer works great and other then a few things I haven't figured out yet I really like not running out of ink all the time. It is.my.own fault in not taking the time to figure out how to operate the printer properly. It saved me around $150/month in ink replacement

Disappointing

I was happy to buy this because I like ink tanks and was impressed with this new concept. I set it up and wanted to give it a fair chance, but after two weeks I had to return it. First I was truly disappointed on the screen, so small u have to wait for the words to scroll to read e screen function is not easy to navigate. The machine is noisy. The worst thing was when I found not fax two sided pages and I had to manually turn them over. That's when I took it back! Such a shame, great ink concept and I was willin to pay more, but was truly disappointed. I hope they improve it
