Very easy set up. So far so good. Brother1 says very nice. Best printer ever. Brother2 says test prints are amazing. Sister says printing quality is fantastic.

Finally a sensible solution to ink costs

I switched from an HP with "itty bitty" cartridges that emptied at an alarming rate...
I applaud Epson for creating this new product. It performs well, and I am sure over time, it will justify the extra initial cost. I like not having to constantly be worried about managing replacement ink on a regular basis. I am comfortable recommending it to friends and family...

everything is good for this printer, the only thing I complain about is no memory card port or USB port for USB drive to store the scanned result into memory card or USB drive

Cheap, Loud, Fast, Beautiful

Thanks to the inexpensive ink. Prints are cheap, fast, and better than laser. I am no longer afraid of printing because of the cost of ink; ink is 1/100th the cost of the ink that comes with most consumer printers. Setup was easy. The printer should pay for itself in 1 year and carries a two year warranty.
My only complaints are that the paper tray seems a bit flimsy, printing is loud and scanning is somewhat slow.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just installed the ET-4550. Installation was pretty straightforward--good instructions. I usually pay someone to install/set up printers & computers. Was able to do this by myself easily. Printed sample page. Worked! The only thing I don't like is that if I have a custom paper size in my Word doc & Print option, I have to get up & tell the printer (on its window) to use letter-sized plain paper. With my old (non-Epson) printer, I didn't have to do this. It just printed on letter-sized (8.5 x 11) automatically, even if my document was set to 5 x 8. If someone knows a way around this, please let me know. Love the refillable ink feature. Hope it saves me money.

Dollar for dollars you can't beat it!

Looking for economy, ease-of-use, unbelievably high quality output, look no further! the reliability speed and performance of this machine exceeded my expectations. Although echo tank products have been available in other countries for years, once available in the USA I went to my local store to evaluate the product. Our older Epson printer was beginning to fail, so I replaced it with the ET 4550 and have been unbelievably satisfied, no ecstatic with its performance in all areas. It's photo quality is not quite up to my professional photo Epson printers, but for general home use it is extremely good. It scans very well when coupled with good ORC software. I highly recommend this machine

Print Queue

Overall I like the printer because of the large ink capacity and the double sided printing feature.
However, when I queue up more than one print request in the print queue, it stops the print request it is printing. I have to go into the queue and delete the new print request and wait until the current request has completed printing before requesting another print request.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor Quality

Had it for 1 year. It is overpriced. Prints very slowly. Printed about 900 pages total so far. Recently started leaving the stripes and messing up colors on the prints. Realigning etc did not help resolve it. Does not seam to be nearly as reliable as it should be.
