The Epson ET-4550 Eco Ink is awesome! The ink last a long time and is much less expensive than other printer inks. We have scanned paintings and they reproduce fantastic. I would definitely recommend this printer!

Great low cost per print printer

I paid a lot for this printer initially so that it can save me money later on. Print quality wise, it could be better but that isn't the main selling feature. Throw in some glossy paper and turn up the print quality settings to really throw out some half decent quality images. Paper handling is pretty low at 100 sheets input and 30 sheets output. I refuse to pay the extreme price for the 8550 but would love to see an additional tray option for this one if there is a future model.

Setup was as simple as I've ever encountered; even the wireless network setup, which is really nice.

Setup
on April 10, 2016

Everything went well on the setup, but the paper size. The printer did not have a choice of 8.5/11 , the closes was 8 X 10. When I went print my first test from the computer to the printer, I received an error message saying the paper sizes were not the same.
Why would a common size of print paper (8.5 X 11) not be listed as one of the paper sizes on the printer?

Slow and inflexible

The Epson WF ET-4550 that I bought was too slow and too difficult to set up. To enter wireless network settings, for example, it is necessary to toggle though upper-case, lowercase and numerals. Not so easy for one with large fingers. I returned mine to the place of purchase for a refund.

Just getting started

Just purchased the printer this afternoon. Finally got it set up. The documentation could have been better. When you are putting in the initial bottles of ink, it fills up past the fill line, but they say that is OK. I didn't wear gloves as instructed, and got plenty of ink on a couple of fingers, in my defense, if you wear gloves, you can't remove the seal from he top of the ink bottle. I've printed a couple of pages, I haven't copied, scanned or fax'ed. I'll see how that goes.

Worked OK for a while, but not long

This was my first EPSON printer and likely my last. I paid the extra to get the cool ink refill feature. The printer worked OK for a while, but noisy and slow. Now it doesn't print properly yielding improper and incomplete print-outs and taking a long time to do it. I haven't had the time to mess with it to see if I can figure it out or get on the help line, but the thing less than 2 months old with very low usage. Not a reliability confidence builder.

Initial Product is Great

This printer is really good right out of the box. The only drawback is the inability to repair minor parts such as the ejection paper holder (Stacker Assembly) without a very very expensive repair by an authorized dealer which is the suggestion of customer serevice. This tray should be able to slip in and out without taking the printer apart. Could not afford the repair on my machine so my printed paper flies all over the floor. Took the shine of the printer. If not for the above problem the printer would have gotten 5 stars
