compact design

I bought this mainly for my wife who is tired of using our other machine. The other one had a much larger foot print and for one she like the extra space. She has pumped about a reem of paper through the machine and the containers have only dropped about 1/8th of the way. I don't know if that's wonderful or not but as long as i don't have to go the a store and purchse more ink every week I'm happy. Mywife has to load the ink containers because I have shaky hands; that's my problem. One thing that bothers me is the changing from different size paper is not simple like with the other machine. With my other machine, the computer would command the printer to set the paper size, not so with this machine. Any changes has to be done to the machine before printing from the computer with a different paper size.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Printer ever!

I started a home-based business so I upgraded from my "did a good job but..." printer to the Epson ET 4550. It was the best purchase I've made. The detail and print quality is incredible. It's fast with very little maintenance, very easy setup, not to mention affordable ink! The onscreen settings feature lets you control print, copy, scan and fax without a computer. I use my iPhone or iPad exclusively so this is wonderful. The paper tray holds a lot so reloading isn't as often at all. As printers go, you get what you pay for, but I got a lot more. I definitely recommend the Epson to anyone who does a lot of printing. You won't be disappointed.

Finally, a printer without expensive cartridges

Print quality excellent
Wireless set-up takes awhile but is easy to figure out and works well.
I'm very pleased with the overall design of the machine.
For a small office, such as I have, it is working beautifully.

This will save us money on ink. It was easy to Load the ink.it print fast. WiFi was easy. My cell was easy. Laptop easy. My tablet gave me a hard time till I loaded the 3 one up then all good it was me and play store. So in three months I will know this was our best move.saving money on ink... I am sure we will. Ty..

New Epson 4550 Ink Jet Printer

Excellent printed and on-line installation instructions. It took me about 30 minutes, which includes filling and charging the ink wells.
No glitches along the way. I have only printed the test page, but if it produces quality printed material and lasts several years, I will be very happy with this purchase.

Almost a great printer

I love the printer, but couldn't recommend it to a friend, because the printer freezes up after hibernating. I have to unplug the printer and plug it back in to get it to start working again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Expectations were much better

Although this printer was highly recommended:
1. We have had issues with it continuing to loose connectivity.
2. The tray and paper size lever is flimsy and moves when inserting the tray into the printer.

It prints very well, but we are now skeptical about the long term reliability of the printer.
