Easy to set up

I was looking for a printer that was more economical than the one I had previously. This is it. I appreciated the clear set up instructions.

Just set it up on an iMac. Only a small problem, that the Epson driver didn't show up on the set up window initially, & I got an error message. I called Support, & set it up through System Pref's quickly & easily. The 4550 seems to be working well now.
Last week, I bought a 4500, but had print quality problems with it, & it doesn't have 2-sided printing. The "product comparison" window on Epson's website said it did: no. I can tell already that the 4550 is worth the extra $$.
One suggestion Epson: either put curved nozzles on the ink bottles, or put the ink in flexible pouches, with the nozzle at 1 corner, so the customer can ensure that the nozzle is securely in the ink tank opening, before the ink starts running. I moved the printer, so the ink tank end was at the edge of the desk, so I could keep the bottle upright until the nozzle was right over the tank opening, & that helped.

Never run out of ink

I bought the original one a year ago and recently I had trouble printing, kept saying paper jam or out of paper. I called Epson, they said it was most likely a hardware failure. I had a brand new replacement in 2 days! Along with all new ink cartridges!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Thing to happen to printers since dot matrix

I bought this 6 months ago and it has worked flawlessly.
It's so nice to not have to change cartridges every few weeks.
It works so well I bought one for my son's family. They were always going through
printers. You could buy the printers cheaper than the ink.
What a great idea. I'm sure the other printer companies will have to get on board with
this ink tank revolution.

Love the Eco Tank feature.

I bought this printer because of the Eco Tank refill feature. I've only had the printer a month now, but I love the idea that I won't have to buy the expensive ink cartridges like I did for my previous printer. Epson claims high volume on these refillable bottles, so I'm optimistic. One concern I had was someone stated this machine didn't connect well to their wireless system unless they were beside each other. That almost prevented me from buying this printer, but I've not had that problem. Works great so far. Machine is compact and fits where I need it to. As far as opening the bottles, I open them carefully over my sink. The only draw back I see is it's small paper tray capacity.
I would recommend this to a friend!
