OK, but...

I really liked the idea of the lack of cartridges and the compact size. Setup was super easy, and connection to my Apple-based wireless network went without a hitch. Printing is both noisy and SLOW. Print quality is good but not great, especially for graphics and photos. Copying and scanning from the plate face works fine, from the document feeder not so much; documents have to be PERFECTLY aligned and crisp or they jam. Can’t speak to fax as I don’t use that feature. So far I’ve had to clean and align print head twice after six months of use. The lack of duplex print in a printer of this price is annoying. I would not buy this printer again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Loving the ink costs and efficiency, but, it does not hold that much paper and wish it printed faster but not cost more. Other than that, its perfect

Saves on ink

It really does save on ink. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as the XP-400. Which is a good thing, since my XP-400 never let me down. Definitely worth the extra purchase price.

Very Slow response, printing and scanning

I expect to save alot of money over the life of this printer but it's takes 20 seconds or more to begin printing and is noisy and slow printing plain text. Scan and Copying is even worst; it takes about a minute to scan just one page. I've confirmed that the quality is set to normal. Despite these weaknesses, I still believe it a good printer for basic office work.

NIce machine, prints and scans well

I swallowed hard at the price but will save the difference on ink cost and travel to buy cartridges. When the machine first appeared it was not emphasized that a large supply of ink was part of the deal. I see this is now emphasized in the advertising material and should be a clincher for those on the fenc. about purchasing..
