I have the 4500 on the same table as my 3540. The 4500 has poor wifi reception while the 3540 has excellent. The 3540 scans and prints twice as fast.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Tank - set up for beginners

The product is new and I like it, but... Epson really didn't help itself with the initial ink set up of the tank. Plastic gloves should have been in the starter package, as the ink sealer tops are high potential to get on your hands.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Still loving my 4500 ecotank

I have owned the printer for 45 days and made 1500 prints. The 4500 works better then any other printer I have ever owned. I have had a few issues but they seem to be the operator not the printer. Still 4 stars for dye based color inks. The price has dropped $70 since I bought it. I am sure that is about what I have saved in ink cost. It is not a photo printer but the photos printed on photo paper are good enough for most people.

SETUP CHALLENGE

When one gets to the setup screen on the product, where one has the machine check the phone line, one can get into an endless loop, in which one prints the Fax Diagnostic Report, gets all successful marks, then one has to do it all over again. I finally touched keys that were NOT intuitive and got out of the loop. Epson has homework to do here.

Love my new printer

Small and compact..does not take up a lot of space. I did have to call for them to finish the set up of the printer because it would not pick up my wi-fi.

Great printer

I love this printer because its wireless and I can refill the ink myself without buying cartridges. The only downside to this printer is ever so often it goes offline for some reason. That's okay if it would find its self again but it want or doesn't..
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just short on features!

Although the EPSON ET-4500 is an all-round good buy and a fine machine, it lacks a few features that would have been useful.
First and foremost would have been an option to print on both sides of the paper without having to print pages 1, 3 and 5, then turning the sheets over and reloading them and then printing 2, 4 and 6.
Second, would be an option to print in reverse so that multiple page documents would print from high-to-low so that page (1) would end up on top.
And last would be the ability to print legal size (11x14) sheets.
Overall though, I think it is a nice printer.

Great idea

I think this product will save me time and money in the future . To make product better i think the ink caps could be color coded. I accidently put blackink in the blue tank and the blue ink in the black tank.
