setup mostly failed

This would not set up on my wifi network, because the printer would not log in despite using correct log in. The instructions and auto features to overcome this are useless and ask for things that do not exist on my Charter Router - like a control software & certain buttons. I do have it running on a USB cable but that is not what I wanted - I am going to have to waist a lot more time before this is solved. I am not a happy buyer At this moment. The instructions included are elementary & ambiguous - very bad
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been a fan of Epson for a long time and have been disappointed with some of their products but I am happy to say that I think they are back on the right track with the XP-830. Ease of installation and use, compact design and all-in-one. I haven't test the CD/DVD print but have seen the Epson Discmaker and expect this machine to be comparable for a home use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy Peasy Set Up

Great printer. Originally purchased another brand that was a nightmare to set up and photos were poor and not able to correct it. Customer service was not able to help with it. I am returning it. The Epson was completely installed including wi-fi in an hour. Print quality is excellent. Besides the usual features to be expected it will also print on CD-DVD as well as copy a DVD. Small foot print...this is a gem.

I am totally shocked at the high quality photo prints from this printer. Above the quality of having your prints done by an outside source. And as far as text documents go, sharp and detailed. I tried printing on photos on WIFI from a friends house. What a great feature. I could go on about the benefits and quality of this printer, however buy one and you will be impressed. Always use Epson ink and Premium Photo Paper Glossy for your photos. You will be as impressed as I am.

A little tough to install for a non IT guy but think I have it going. CD did not open to the printer for installation. But seems to be dong good at this time. WiFi for the first time.

Excellent Printer

Bought this brand and model based upon Consumer Reports "best buy" recommendation. Well designed all-in-one printer, all functions are very user friendly. The on printer control panel is very well organized and easy to use. I set my printer up as a network printer (which is one of the main reasons I bought this model) and the set up was simple and flawless. The on line support software for off site printing and smart phone printing is easy to load and works (which is unusual these days). I was extremely impressed with the printer setup software and the effortless connections it made to all my devises. And the print quality is outstanding by the way.

Working good

The printer seems to be working good. Prints a nice picture, and is faster then my last printer. It's compact, which is nice.
I had a small problem finding a firmware update.
The printer said it needed a firmware update, so I looked for one on Epson website. I found one but it said it was a downgrade and wouldn't install it.
I went back to the printer and found the firmware option under settings and did the upgrade on the printer it's self. The printer is happy now, and so I'm I.
