Easy to install, undependable Wifi connection

The printer was easy to install but you need a USB cable to connect printer for scanning. The keyboard is a pain since its like a fax and you have to keep scrolling to input letters and numbers. I've only had it for a few days but I found that it doesn't connect to wifi very well and you have to constantly fidget with it. Anytime the power goes it you have to repeat the process of connection to wifi. It has no memory.

epson 820 and 830

ive had a Epson 820 for some time now and it is a nice printer. I purchased this printer because I print a lot of dvds and its the best one for printing dvds out there. the software is much better for printing disks than all the other ones. I started having a problem with my xp820 about 4 months ago doing disks. the dvd would slide off the tray, the printer would give me all kinds of error messages, sometimes the dick would print all in one little area of the disk and on and on. it started doing it occasionally and got worse as time went on. I finally called Epson on this only to be told I was just out of warranty and their was nothing they could do. the printer prints on paper fine but the dvd printing is shot. well as I said its still the best one software wise to do dvds so I ordered the xp830 and to my surprise it looks exactly the same as the 820 only it takes different number ink cartridges of course. so I'm just hoping this one don't develop the same problems.. all in all its a great printer for the money. it does an excellent job at printing, scanning and everything else, but I do find it annoying that the time you give it an order and when it actually starts working is a long time. you would think the software and electronics would be a lot faster. I would recommend this printer to a friend.

Nice features
on September 12, 2016

I was surprised at the quality of several features. One, the cd printer (the reason why I bought the XP-630) works so much better than my old Epson RX-260. Then, there is the scanner. While it doesn't do slides, negatives or positives; the software does have features that only the stand alone scanners have - mainly the ability to automatically adjust the color on older photos and slides. There are other tweaks I won't get into that work nicely to enhance certain types of scanned documents and photographs. ONLY ONE NEGATIVE. The cost of replacement ink. Because of ink costs, I will use this printer mainly to print cds and as a scanner.

A printer that works
on September 17, 2016

I have had this all-in-one printer for about one month and so far no problems. The print quality seems to be very good. I had a little problem setting up the fax but that also seems to be working well. I did not have very good luck with a previous manufacturer. I went through three printers in the past few years. Mechanical things tend to break down so I am keeping my fingers crossed with the Epson.
Printing black & white is fine but printing colored ads is weak.

the printer works great but getting the cd/dvd printer to work is a little hard. the biggest complaint that I have is that the ink is so expensive and you cannot use after market ink cartridges. My grandson likes to print and it is expensive

So far... so good

I have been using the printer for several weeks. So far I have used the copy and print (including 2-sided) features. Just once I had a paper jam, but I was able to figure out how to fix it. Have not tried scanning yet. It was relatively easy to set up, following the included directions. I LOVE the wireless printing; that has not failed once. I owned Epson printer previously, and it died after 8 years. This is a great replacement.
