XP-830 Epson - A Christmas gift from my husband.

The Epson XP-830 was purchased on Nov. 4, 2016 by my husband as a Christmas gift for me. At the time I was still using my old Epson Artisan 837 printer and I continued to do so until I used up the toner I had purchased for the Artisan. So I didn't actually start using the XP-830 until a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I have to say I'm not as pleased with the XP as I had been with my old Artisan printer. The XP is fussy about printing labels, which causes it to sometimes stall during the printing and damage the label sheet. And it doesn't always like the 110 # card stock I use for printing greeting cards. Printing labels and the card stock were not a problem with my Artisan. Also, the way the output tray operates on the XP concerns me as I can imagine it will wear itself out in time moving back and forth as it does. Again, the output tray for my Artisan was much simpler. I'm honestly considering giving up on my XP-830 and purchasing a different printer and perhaps a different brand. Sorry I couldn't praise my XP printer for you, but it is not nearly as user friendly as the Artisan 837 had been. I regret my Artisan needed to be retired.

versatile printer at a decent price for home use

The print quality is very clear, almost jam free. Many times, the scanning and fax capabilities were very convenience to have for home use. The bad list: the paper holder is tiny with only 35 sheet. The ink cartridge is small and seems to run out of ink only after about 50-80 pages. The inks seems to be on a timer to expire. We barely use any colors, all the inks seems to be depleted at about the same time (after about 5-6 months inserted to the printer). Once the ink is out, the printer insists on replacing the cartridge and does not do anything else even if that function does not involve printing. The scanning function only scans 1 page at a time. The auto feeder does not seems to work with the scan mode. The scanned picture always scan upside down no matter how I oriented the original picture on the glass. The fax at normal quality is very poor, I have to set it at 'fine' rate to be usable. When use the XL version of the ink, it seems to double the number of pages but no where closed to the advertised 450 pages. Although it is a decent printer from 1.5 years ago, but if I have to replace it, I would look for something else.

Always out of ink!

Totally unreliable. Printed about ten pages before it ran out of ink. Always out of ink.

Easy Set Up- Works great

Had it set up and running to two computers in less than 20 minutes. So far it runs great...color is impressive and text is sharp.
Bobo (above) says that the scanner doesn't work on wireless...I don't know what he did ,but it works fine.

Access to wireless videos

I have had my new printer since October and am still unable to print. Not sure what the problem is. When I went to the user manual and trouble shooting, there were videos that I could not access.
Just disappointed with the issues, because I've been working to solve them since the purchase.

Love this Printer

It closes all up when finished printing and that is so helpful when i have it in my office and i have 2 parrots in here .So dander is everywhere and this is a closed unit and it is smaller than most printers, Yeah!!!!!!!

I am pleased with this printer so far. It was easy to setup, and it works well. It meets my expectations, and I would recommend this as a great option for those interested in a quality printer for home use.
