Out of Photo black cartridge and it won't print. REALLY?

This printer has been nothing but a pain in the butt. Slow to print a doc. It needs all 5 ink cartridges to print a black and white doc. Epson please correct me if I'm wrong. I just want a quick page and I can't rely on it.

This is the 3rd Epson printer I have owned. I own a Travel agency and the printers are used 6- 10hrs a day. Color, speed etc. is wonderful and I love the products.
We use the for everything even printing our own art work for the business.
Thanks Epson for making products that last & are the work horse for my business

purchased for a small business setting. would definitely not recommend. might be OK for occasional printing. terrible paper drawers - repeated paper jamming. did not even return the printer. went to the recycling center to make sure it was never used again.

I think that this is a great printer for general office use, however I'm a bit disappointed and I think that you can spend a lot less for just general use printer. I did some research before buying it as I was specifically looking for a small batch printer for invitations and greeting cards. This printer was described as having the ability to print small text crisp and clear... Not the case. I tried it out and the small text on the invite is far from crisp... Definitely will not be able to use it for what I intended to. Besides that, the rear feed slot only has the ability to take in one sheet at the time, but you cannot load it till the printer tells you to and it's a bit slow on that side... so there is some waiting involved. The rear slot feed issue would not be a big deal for me IF the printing was crisp. I will play with it and see if I can maybe improve the printing issue with change in settings. But by the looks of it, I will need to start looking for another printer.

Ink hog, Flimsy tray, small paper tray
on December 8, 2017

Within the first week I had to change my black cartridges. The tray the rolls in is flimsy and jumps off track. The paper tray holds a very small amount of paper, and I had to clean the nozzle/head twice in a month to keep it from printing lines down my forms and vague ink distribution. I'm comparing this to our other Epson printer WF-3620/3640 series...
I read reviews on this one and it seemed to be the best choice.... I was completely wrong about that and would love to exchange for another if that were even an option.

My old HP all in printer had started to ' play up' ( not printing . out of paper etc.) However after purchasing the XP-630 I was more than impressed. It was so easy to set up and running within the hour. The only disappointing thing that there was no ink cartridges included or left out of the carton. I had to purchase from another source a complete set Ink cartridges. Otherwise this printer ould have received a five star rating.

Quality and Versatility

I had an Epson Artisan 710, which served me very faithfully until an accident caused it to fall about 3.5 feet to the floor. I guessed it was probably as expensive to fix that one as to get the XP-830, and the 830 has a couple of extra features (e.g., a document feeder for scan/copy). I think this is a superb printer overall, but a key feature that sets it apart is the ability to print on CD/DVDs. Customers love it when I deliver a CD/DVD with their logo, my logo, custom text, all merged with a background image (JPEG, etc.) of their or my choice. A friend has an HP printer that can print CDs, but the software is ***not*** anywhere close to Epson's (e.g., no JPEGs).
