For basic printing it does well. I tried more than once printing a picture on 8x10 and it left a line on one side of the picture like something had scrapped along it and smudged the print.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I do not do a lot of printing, but so far this printer was a good choice. Consumer report gave it a good rating so I will see if this is a proven fact. My daughter has this same printer and has a lot of issues with it. Hopefully I won't encounter this same problems. Example: black ink is smearing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not intuitive set-up or great instruction book

New printer based on Consumer Reports rating. Set up was relatively easy but you were never really sure if you were following instructions correctly. The instruction book doesn't provide instructions for making copies, scanning or printing.
So far I haven't seen any information on how to connect to my phone.
I assume the printer connected to my network but I don't know for sure.

Trouble free installation

Everything about setting up our XP-830 went smoothly. WAY better than our previous HP products. So far so good....we will see how it goes from here but really like it so far!

I have only had it about a month, but, the features I've used have been great. It scans easily. It has auto 2 sided printing and copying. If you put a document in to copy, all you have to do is push start and it automatically prints both sides.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does a good job on most printer task

It has great features and I would give it an out standing score except for its very poor black printing DESIGN.. Because the print has NO GRAY SCALE feature, it prints out black data until the until the paper is WET with BLACK INK. This means I have to replace both of the black cartridges more often than I should. As You know they are very high priced. I am considering getting rid of the printer because of this.. It's too bad that you may lose (perhaps many) customers because of this flaw.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
