Easy to set up and use

My old printer works but unfortunately it lacks many features. The quality of the photos and documents are astonishing.

Network printing problems, otherwise great

I use mine for everyday printing, mostly documents that are either b&w or a mix of b&w and color. I also occasionally print images, from small to full page.
I won't try to judge this based on really serious printing needs beyond nice looking color documents and decent photo quality, because I don't have to worry about that last inch of perfection. Print quality and speed are both fine for an everyday user like me who just wants to print stuff now and then.
But there is a huge problem, and that's printing over wi-fi. From my PC, which sits only about 3 feet away, print speed is usually fine. When we try to print from a phone or a computer across the house, however, it prints so slowly that sometimes it times out and gives up, spitting out an incomplete image. When it does finish something, it goes like this:
1. Someone selects the printer on their device and sends a document.
2. The printer says "hey, here comes a document"
3. After about a minute, it starts printing.
4. It prints about 1/2 inch or so about every 15 seconds, give or take. The point is, it's slooooooooooooooooow.
5. At some point it probably sits and does nothing for up to 10 minutes.
6. Sometimes, after number 5, it gives up and coughs out a partial printout.

And yes, we're a techy household in silicon valley and have verified the wi-fi is working every which way backwards and forwards. And the weird part is that it has to print over w-fi to print from my PC, which is the least troublesome (I won't go so far as to say "proper") printing experience. I haven't delved too deeply into the printer's network configuration, mainly because I don't think network setup for a "everyday person" printer should be that esoteric, but will check a few things once I've downloaded the full manual - because you don't get one. :(
