This all in one needs drastic improvements.

Purchased mid Feb 2018, I was away for a month April-May so there was no use.
Printing docs: *1) background was gray in color, *2) another time if you printed 2 sided it showed through on the opposite side. 3) Printing tax forms online the light gray color used on each line never showed up even with darkest print setting.
4) making a copy of a document, the copy didn't include a bar code on the papers edge or the page number on the bottom, even though my paper was slightly larger. I have noticed since, that when I place photos right up to the edge of the glass, there is always something missing in the scan. Isn't that the purpose of the edge though, to give you the ability to keep photos and docs square?
Enlarging a doc: *5) When I chose to enlarge a document, I chose "enlarge" on the printer screen but there were no options listed after that.
Scanning: I have owned 4 scanners and probably scanned1000 or more photos, and I find this is the slowest and the least cooperative unit ever. It is Sooooo slow and if I scan 4 photos at a time, it takes 4 very slooow passes. *6) I had this following problem for a month or more where I kept having to move the mouse to wake it up so it would start to scan, if not the first image, each succeeding image.
Printing photos: *7) when printing a solid color I kept getting lighter solid bar marks throughout the print.
*8) "printer off line" this happened a short time after my installation was successful with the help of a tech. I could print docs but not open up the scanning software
* means the remedy was to click on one reset button or another. #7 I had to delete the scanner and reinstall it back into my computers hardware area. This should never be, once the printer is installed it should function without needing to reset various buttons.
9) I can't use the scanner software on my other computer without first closing the software on my first computer, and this is set up as a network!
10) the adf pulls the originals in crooked and results in poor quality copies.
11) This one is probably the most aggravating to me. The scanning software times itself out and shuts down without warning. When I am done, I will shut it down, why is Epson determining how fast I need to be?
I have never had such a poor scanner, printer and Epson, you have a lot of improvements to be made and I truly hope you step up and take care of what seems to be software related issues and that would be most all the problems.

Epson makes superior photo quality printers

I've owned an Artisan 1430 for nearly 8 years and it has always worked flawlessly. This is my first XP-830 so if it performs half as well as my Artisan then I will be extremely impressed. Thanks for building great printers.

Great all-in-one

I use this printer as a workhorse for personal use, printing photos, etc without missing a beat. The only issue I have come across is that it runs out of ink too fast. I am now looking for a continuous ink system. Other than that, GREAT PRINTER.

I would probably give this an excellent rating with more time and experience using it. I've had my xp=830 for a month, use it mainly for small printing tasks, not business. I like it's features, it is intuitive and easy to set up and use.

Needs better set-up support

I bought this printer about a month ago. Printing is very slow, and I'm unable to figure out how to change the default settings because the instructions in the manual and on the help site reference are three years old and don't reference my current operating system version (Mac OS 10.13.4)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great printer

Easy to setup and looks good on desk. Doesn't take up as much space as the HP all-in-one it replaces. Wanted the Ethernet hookup and this model has it. Prints photos & documents easily from my android phone & tablet. Color photos are great. Only problem I had in beginning was printing envelopes, but have figured that out with a Google search.
I would recommend this to a friend!
