Printer is Confusing

For awhile I wasn't able to use my printer for anything. My printer has two black ink cassettes, a large one & a small one. Usually my printer allows me to switch to the small one when the ink runs low on the large one. It gave me the option again, but still ran down the ink on the large one, then quit working entirely until I replaced it. It took me awhile to get to the store.
Stop giving us options that don't work!!
I have just learned of a work-around. Switching to monochrome printing -- from my computer -- will keep it functioning.
Why did you keep this work-around a big secret? Start giving us workable options instead.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent personal office printer combo!

I have no requirement for fast printing - just high quality printing, plus I need to be able to make prints of my scanned artwork on high-quality, heavy watercolor paper. With an excellent flatbed scanner and rear paper door for heavy papers, this small printer is perfect for my personal office! Plus, I print newsletters for a local club and needed the basic features that the XP-830 offers - it's not the fastest printer, but is super accurate, easy to use, and has lots of extra features for scaling/editing your printing projects!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best bang for the buck !

Have had this XP-830 for several months now and have no complaints. Use it for scanning, printing, copying, etc. Scanner/copier works very well either single or with multiple documents via the bulk feeder. Works so well my daughter and son-in-law also purchased one for their home use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Photo quality appears to better. But it was great to begin with. The manual output tray changed to a mechanized is a BIG PAIN IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT. Stupid change.

I bought this printer a month ago when my previous one died. It was a great price with the features I wanted and the ink was reasonably priced. I love the fact that I don't have to get up and connect my laptop every time I want to print. The print quality for B & W and color is excellent and the printing is fast.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was a length process but WELL worth it, I have never had a sophisticated printer like this. Money well spent and the download software was a Breeze! Thanks Epson for a Great Product!
