I have purchased many Epson printers over the years. They have all been great. I replaced my Epson Artisan 837 with the XP-830. The print quality is fantastic both letter and photo. For the quality from Epson there is none better. Epson does it right from the start.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Functionally but an Ink-Drinker

The display is clear and useful, proving instructions where needed. The print quality is good to very good, depending on the media. Photos are also of good quality, especially if using Epson photo papers.
There are a few quirks: If you want to use the single-sheet rear paper feed you cannot insert the paper before you print. You must indicate your preference in the settings, start the print process, and wait for instructions on the screen to insert the paper. Why so needlessly convoluted?
This would be a 4-star review and I would recommend it if ink consumption were more reasonable. But the XP-830 seems to drink ink and the cost of replacements is high. Strangely, the #410 cartridges are not carried by major vendors in stores on on line and I must purchase the XLs from Epson directly.
In sum, a good printer that could be a lot better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice small printer

Easy set up, works lawlessly. We use it wirelessly, and have had no issues with it.
One thing I would improve would be a larger paper tray, but it is a small unit so that my be why they chose to make its capacity small.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epsom prints quality photos. I won't use any other. This is a great printer, takes up little space and does an outstanding job in all functions. I highly recommend this to everyone.

It's just too frustrating

I was stuck looking for a new multifunction after my Epson Artison 810 suffered print head nozzle failure. This 830 seemed like a newer & better "next generation" but it actual has fewer ink colors and significantly lower quality photo printing (I assume due to fewer ink colors).
It has some nice features, like apple air print support works great.
Things that disappoint me are the terrible photo prints and the sheet scan never jams but ALWAYS turns the scan. I needed to scan 100+ sheets of legal 8.4x14 pages. In batches of 10-22 pages I was able to create nice PDF's except 100% of the time the scan was VERY crooked. That's just not acceptable. Now I have to pay someone to scan these documents because the glass plate can't handle 14" pages (not that I wanted to had swap 100+ pages, but it isn't an option anyway)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm very satisfied by the quality and ease of use. Wifi capabilities definitively help a lot, like printing from your laptop. The print quality of photos is great, as long as you know what you are doing! Thanks
