Good pictures

Bought this for the photo printing ability. It does very good pictures when using photograph paper.
Quick and easy set up and wireless works great.
The tray that printed items go into extends and retracts automatically and it can be pain if it gets hung up on paper tray which is below it. I would happily have a manual paper tray.

Epson XP-830 Printer

I've owned this printer for 7 months and have found it to be excellent overall. I regularly print text with pictures, scan, copy and on occasion fax documents. I purchased this printer to replace an earlier Epson printer that was almost 10 years old and not wireless. The XP-830 is wireless and very easy to set up. Print copy is always excellent, whether text or pictures. I can recommend this printer highly. My only desire would be for the ink to be cheaper.

Excellent print quality in both documents and photos. Easy setup. Easy to use. Scanner is easy to use. The paper trays are a bit awkward, but not enough so that I wouldn't purchase again.
I would recommend this to a friend!

nice little printer

If you use almost entirely for photos and printing on DVDs, it does great. You will run out of ink quickly if you plan on printing mass qualities of color paper items.

Why won't this work on newer Macs?

I've re-installed the software for my printer to work on my MacBook Air multiple times, but it still won't work. I have to use my old Mac to print documents on the printer. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Too complex

Two complaints: (1) the XP630 is too complicated to print normal documents. Doors have to be lifted, slides pulled out and one slide if pushed too far is a bummer to get out. (2) it's sad that the replacement ink costs more than the printer itself and is difficult to replace. It's the last Epson I'll buy.

A razor sharp printer

Beautiful printing and color. Copies and scans well. But, like a razor uses blades, this printer uses way too much high-priced ink.

I purchased 3 Black ink refills, when installing them received an electronic message from printer informing me that they were not the correct item. The only Black ink cartridges I have been able to install have been in the expensive Multi Pack. Even then they do not meet the stated number of copies. I have installed 3 Black and 6 color cartridges and used less than 2 reams of paper. I keep the printer set for less than half of the possible color adjustment.l Machine set up was some what cumbersome but doable. Quality of propduce acceptable.
