Complicated to use; control touch screen overly sensitive, slooow, wireless interface tricky. In the future, I will buy a separate scanner, separate copier, separate printer. None of these little combination units work well from any source.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So So

While the printer does offer better ADF handling than most in its class; it lacks in very important areas.
The interface on the printer is very crude (looks like a 16-bit software interface)
It does not provide access to a lot of the basic settings that will allow the user to get full use of the printer without a PC.
It should look and act like a full-featured app on a smartphone.
The software does not provide good control of the printer and is also outdated in appearance.
The drivers look like they are 16-bit drivers.
I expected a lot beter from EPSON
A plus is that it does print very well and the ink use is moderate.

Good Printer for the value, simple to use, fully satisfied with, except the ink usage is below par and a bit expensive.

XP-830 Printer

I think the printer does a better than average job. The features are good and the initial cost of the printer is reasonable. As with all printers the primary drawback is ink. The 410 cartridges are not readily available in all stores. Epson is like all other printer companies in that they are primarily interested in selling ink.

Bought this as a replacement

Replaced my Epson Artisan with this printer. The old one still worked, but I wanted to upgrade. Needed a printer that would print directly on CD/DVD and this fit the bill. Works just as good, if not better, than the Artisan did. Low profile, multi-function printer. Wireless, if I want. I would recommend this printer to anyone that has limited space and needs a printer that will do it all!

Does everything it claims it will.
Really like the fact it will scan in the Adobe format.
When doing the initial install I had a problem getting it to print. The printer said it was ready but would not print from the PC. Found the software had installed on both the network and wireless locations. Once I deleted the network program it worked fine.

compact printer, fits on a bookshelf

I purchased this printer mainly because of it's compact size and front loading paper tray. The print quality for this reasonably priced printer exceeded my expectations. The ink supply includes a second black cartridge "photo black" which is really not needed, and is actually a drawback in my opinion. You need to be aware of this fact: When the ink supply in the "photo black" cartridge is depleted, you will not be able to print any text even though a full extra large regular black ink cartridge is installed. I could not resume printing until i bought and installed another "photo black" ink supply.
