3rd epson printer

So this is my 3rd Epson printer. I love the quality, compact all in one nature of them. I also love that they print directly on CD's. I have all my family photos and movies on DVD. Only decent models that do. I wish the new eco tank systems had this feature. Maybe in the future. Until then I still love my Epson 800 series printers. I just wear them out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Personal Printer

I am only using this printer for home/personal use, so not very high volume. The printer looks good in a home office. Scanner and wireless connection work great. So far, I have only used letter sized paper. The one sided copies have been perfect. The reason four stars instead of 5 is because of problems with the automatic two sided copying; three out of five two sided copies have jammed. Hoping the problems with the auto two sided copying problems improve with use.

After struggling for a week with another brand and frustrated at never being able to print wirelessly, I exchanged it for this Epson and wow, what a huge difference. The setup on this printer with my iMac was so incredibly easy. I did not even have to type my wi-fi password, it communicated with my computer and home network and set everything auto-magically. The instructions were clear, accurate and easy to follow. I love having two paper trays and the separate ink cartridges.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful high quality output. Colors are superb. Duplex works great. I'm able to print on US postcards. USB and wifi setup was very easy. All in all an excellent printer value.

Constant Problems - WORST printer ever.

Constantly goes offline.
Often, when simply copying, it acts like it is scanning, but then prints a blank page. Sometimes it prints okay, other times, for no apparent reason, it prints blank pages, and then says it is out of paper when it's not. Over, and over, I get paper jams with ordinary copy paper. Once again, here I am, 30 minutes later, still trying to copy a simple page - with a mound of ruined paper from paper jams. We have three computers, and have had multiple printers over the years. This one is the very worst!!!!

Used another brand ink jet printer for years, it was slow and print quality so-so. The Epson XP-830 far exceeded the other brand in print quality. My only complaint is it is so slow! It might take 1-10 minutes to print a page of text, and a 4X6 to 8 1/2 X 11 picture, takes 20-30 minutes! Yikes! I have faith this issue can be resolved eventually. I have owned the Epson about 2 months now and I would buy it again.
