Good and Bad

1st printer had stuck carriage - fatal - had to be replaced under warranty. 2 printer is working (knock on wood) but I only use it sparingly. On duplex printing it will catch the edge of paper and make an ink splotch on a corner
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been very impressed small size, as well as the quality of the text and photos, but it uses much more ink than my previous Canon printer.

This is the 3rd XP-830 I have had. I purchase genuine Epson ink, but within a year, the documents that I print have chunks of black ink on them. Very sporadic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Printer.. But!

It's really a great printer. I've used Epson printers for 30 years. They're the best for my needs. This one, however, is a pain in the butt to load the paper, and takes a little too long to get going. Still.. Love it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I’ve had this printer for several months now and it is just right for my little home office and personal use. I would have rated it 5 stars, but I had some trouble updating drivers for my Mac Air book when the Mac OS went to 64 bit and the 32 bit apps stopped supporting some scan functions. All is well now though and although it’s a little pricey to feed (ink), I like all its features and it is easy to use. I no longer maintain a landline so can’t make use of the fax feature. Too bad. It would be handy once in a while. Too bad it doesn’t support some form of wireless internet fax.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just bought this printer and it will not recognize my very first genuine new Epson replacement cartridges. I've tried three now. They are original Epson - not third party and not refills. This printer is going in the trash tonight.

A Great Little Printer, But Takes Some Patience and Care

I have had this printer for a year. When I first used the printer, I thought it would not hold up. However, it is tougher than it looks. The print quality is good but you can do better. Pictures turn out very well. I have produced some very sharp 8.5 x 11 photographs. Printing on printable CDs and DVDs is a nice touch but not really necessary. It does work well. Occasionally, I have to clean the ink overflow area because some ink can get on the document or picture and cause some terrible smears. One needs the patience to clean these areas periodically. The produced products are worth the effort it takes. I would buy this printer again and I would recommend it, but with a caveat or two.
I would recommend this to a friend!
