Paper feeding problems

In setting up the XP-830, I can only load one piece of 8x10 paper into the cassette tray 2 at a time which is a tremendous problem.
The instructions are very poor, both printed and on the printer display board.
The print seems fine but I wouldn't recommend this product.

Paper feed puts a line on all copies

The printer works great. But when copying or scanning, the paper feed will put a line on every page. The printer is only 3 weeks old.

I just installed and set up my new printer, very easy!!! The wireless function will be a time-saver and great for the whole family!! Definitely put the Epson App on your phone for easy printing, this saves the download step into your computer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

INK DEPLETED AFTER 40 PAGES

I have the exact same problem as reported by the other customer who's title was INHALES INK.
I purchased this printer for personal use as it was rated well.
I've never used it for printing photos; just some local newsletters, mostly black with very little color.
After printing 40 pages, the DOUBLE BLACK cartridge was empty and ALL of the colors used 2/3 of the ink! REALLY ? There was very little color on any page.
Additionally, the PHOTO BLACK was empty! I've never printed photos!
In the last 3 months, I've spend over $200 on ink!!!
I use only EPSON ink. Insert cartridge, and printer fails with error code - power off, reinsert cartridge, etc.
After SIX times going thru this process, it accepts the cartridge, then sucks the ink dry!
I downloaded and installed the latest driver and now I can't print labels. I've followed all of the instructions on various websites to check printer setup, etc. Finally gave up and paid a printing company.
I've contacted supported center a few times and will contact again to see if this printer can be replaced or better yet, a refund so I can buy another brand!
I miss my old printer.
Will never buy another Epson printer!

So slow-so not right!

I can't believe how slow this thing is! Also had problems getting the setting for plain paper. The console is very cheap quality vinyl that scratches every time you touch it.Trays are very cheap plastic, guides do not hold their position. Overall a big mistake! It's going back today!

frustrating so far

I bought this printer several days ago, and so far, it's been very frustrating. I found initial setup more difficult than it should have been, because the written instructions are minimal and the illustrations aren't very clear. The illustrations for removing packing material show several places where there is blue tape. The strip indicating the scanner glass lid is also blue, so we thought it was referring to the tape that we had removed. After a ½-hour, we figured out that the glass was to be lifted to get at more packing materials not shown in the illustrations. My older Epson scanner doesn't even allow lifting the glass. We also found the trays confusing. -- Paper handling also leaves much to be desired. My previous printer of another brand allowed me to put up to 50 sheets in the rear feed tray and use them as I needed them. If there wasn't any paper in the rear tray, it would automatically go to the bottom tray. This XP-830 requires a convoluted procedure where I have to manually select rear feed and only feed one sheet at a time, after it's downloaded the page. -- Every week, I print a two page Word Document with two charts on each page. I've yet to be able to do it successfully on this printer, although I've printed other similar documents successfully as 2-sided. (I also hate that selecting 2-sided printing prevents setting draft mode for some unknown reason.) It prints the 1st page correctly, but instead of printing on the back side for the 2nd page, it went to the tray with photo paper and printed out a small portion of the page on expensive photo paper. I've gone through the setup a dozen times and have no idea what's wrong.-- The main reason for choosing this printer was for its ability to print directly on CD & DVD disks. I haven't tried that yet, but if I have as much difficulty with that, this thing is going back. It might anyway. I will contact support and will revise this review if there is an appropriate response.
