gave my older xp 810 to a friend, so I got me the xp 830. I've been extremely happy with my Epson printers.

I just bought the XP830 yesterday, 12.21.2015, to print on 4x6" glossy paper for greeting cards. I have spent the last hour trying to get the printer to go to cassette 1 which is where the 4x6" paper carrier is located. Every time I tried to print to cassette 1, I got an error message telling me that cassette 2 was out of paper. It was, because I was trying to print to cassette 1. I changed the settings several times, turned it off and on to see if it would find cassette 1 but the printer never found cassette 1.
Last night when I was trying to register the printer, I kept getting an error message saying that my serial number was wrong, when in fact it was absolutely correct. I checked it several times to be sure.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Initial setup was difficult. Had to set up the network on the printer several times. I'm still working on getting it to scan to my computer. Prints black and white and color very clear.

Installation went smoothly, even with manual setup for wireless.
I was hoping for a silent print but seemed a little loud after only printing the test page.

I had to buy a new printer. I chose the Epson XP-360. I'm sorry I did. The setup was excruciatingly difficult. I had to use a usb cable to connect my computer- even tho the printer is 2 ft from the Wi-Fi. It took 4 times to load the cd program. The instruction screen kept going blank and prompting me with an error message to make a selection, how? The latch for the black cartridge was laying in the machine, broken off, stuck to the packing tape. All through the set-up process, the printer kept telling me it was busy, then would give me an error message, that the copier was broken, refer to Epson.com. Epson.com does not have any info about error messages during set-up. 3 hrs later , I can print my reports. I expect I will be purchasing a new copier before the year is out., prob not an Epson.
