Convenient All in One

I've had this printer for about 2 months now. Previously I owned the MFC-J475dw, which broke after 2 years. Since I had the previous printers ink, I thought the new J485DW would be compatible, however, that was simply not the case and I had to buy all new ink. Speaking about the ink, every time I ran out of a color and replaced it, the next color would say it was low and needed to be replaced. I didn't want to replace ALL three at the same time, this was not cost effective, I still had to anyways to clear the notifications. This has been the only frustrating part of owning this printer.
As a recommendation, it would be great if you could easily find the setting for "Fast print" for using less ink in the software settings (Windows) for quick printing.
I really like the ease of use over a network and cloud settings. I'm able to easily print anything anywhere I'm at with my Android phone and over Google Chrome OS. When printing pictures and other high quality graphics, the printer does an excellent job, it's also quick to print.
Overall, I would recommend this printer to anyone needing a good all around printer with many features. The only downfall, like any printer, is the costly ink replacements.

a good printer for the price. is rather noisy when moving paper from the tray to the printing area. tray is rather flimsy, though isn't most stuff made in china flimsy???

We replace a Brother all-in-printer with this printer. We were thrilled with the prior printer and expect the same quality from our new Brother.

Difficult to install hard to operate from computer and dumb "starter print cartridges" that have to be replaced soon after purchase!
