This compact printer, scanner & fax machine, all in one, is easy to use and printing choice of black & white or color is very user friendly. It's slower than other printers and louder, but the quality of the printed pages is excellent. Ink is reasonably priced compared to more expensive machines. Very happy with our inexpensive all in one. Highly recommend it.

I like the printer. It has very good features and setup was simple. My only complaint is the print speed. It does not print as fast as other printers I have owned.

Great inexpensive all in one printer

This small printer can fax, scan & print. You can print from your iPhone or iPad!
It's compact but don't let that fool you, it works hard. No need to flip the paper to print on both sides! It's noisier than our previous printers but that's helpful when you are printing from another room.

Brother Does it All

I use this machine in my home office, where I work as a health insurance agent. All my brochures and literature print out perfectly clear, and the ink saver mode does not hurt the quality at all. I especially like that each color cartridge is separate from the other, so I can replace them as needed instead of buying the whole tank every time I run low on one color.
I would recommend this to a friend!

An incomprehensible work horse.

Most tech products are build for a tightly researched market. When you expand the use of a product beyond its primary market you risk the life of the product. Well I did that with my two MFC-J485DW's. I used them as fully capable heavy duty printers. They worked flawlessly at one hundred plus page documents, as well as thousands of pages monthly. They just kept on printing. Then after a full 14 months of doing more in one month that they were designed to do in a lifetime they started to show signs of wear and tear.
Yet the cost per page printing was the lowest possible I have found with any other manufacturer's product stats. I did however leave old faithful as they were still printing and opt for the newest technology from Brothers the MFC-J4620DW because of the increased print speeds and larger tray size. Good by old faithful --- but aI will be back if the newer technology does not measure up to your standards old friend.
