Cooks Well, Cheap Controls

I recently had to buy a new oven replacing another GE we had for more than 10 years. The brand name is excellent and we were very pleased with the old model. This new oven cooks evenly and, so far, is working up to par with the previous. My only complaint is the control panel; it feels cheap and unresponsive. I find myself having to push the "button" more than once at times to activate. Aside from that it's a good buy.

Good features but very flimsy materials.

Bottom storage drawer very poorly contrasted and flimsy. You can tell it's cheap the first time you open it. Big gaps and poor fitting joints in the metal anywhere two parts meet. Oven ignition systems stay on all the time the burner is going wasting electricity and makes oven glow orange color when baking. Over all paint is terrible and scratches just trying to take the shipping tape off. Owned 2 days and the paint is already chipping off in places. Converting to propane is time consuming. Having to mount a rear support to wall and floor to keep stove from tipping over when oven door is open is ridiculous.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Unit, easy access to burners and oven!

Good variety of features, easy to use controls. Caution has to be exercised with the burners, since if you lean and brush against them when you access the overhead microwave, the control knob turns and ignites the burner. To avoid a dangerous situation, I had to come up with a method to prevent the knobs from pushing in if you unintentionally leaned against them. Otherwise, the unit is satisfactory and convenient to use.
