Heed this warning

If you buy appliances in advance of your need, heed this warning: I purchased this gas stove Memorial Day weekend. When the store unboxed the stove, the top was crushed. They said the box had no external damage. I believe them because if they stacked something heavy enough to crush a stove top, the box would clearly be damaged. They would have to deal with it eventually so why not do it when the damage occurred? That means GE loaded a damaged stove in the box. That means a replacement won't arrive for 14 days. That means the builder can't put the final coat of floor sealant on until the stove arrives. That means delivery - as it currently stands won't happen until two days before the movers come. If the other slate appliances - undamaged - weren't ready for installation, I'd switch to another brand with a similar finish. The refrigerator was delivered today and is fine. My advice? If your appliances are delivered to the store well in advance, ask the store to open the box and check condition.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Double oven with Grill burners

Purchased this range to place in my summer home at a 6500 ft altitude location. It was recommended by gas company to install high altitude propane jets, which I thought the range already came with. When I called GE, for correct jets they immediately provided the high altitude propane replacement jets. Just need to begin using it and I'm sure it will be an improvement over the old Whirlpool that we have used for years. Like the Grill features, Double oven Features and am sure temperature settings will be much more accurate than what we've had. Setting the clock was a little different, but we got it set ok!

Nice Stove

Switched from electric to gas and love the middle griddle. Cuts back on dish washing since I can cook the entire meal on the griddle. Things heat up faster and taste better!

This cooking range would have been much better if the grills at the top would be about 5/8" lower so that flame can be closer to cooking pan on the top. That way the heat/energy would not be wasted too much.

A great looking appliance with excellent features. Cooked a meat loaf for the first meal in this appliance; also used the top burners and was very pleased. I like the fact that you can easily convert the normal baking time into convection cooking. Lots of cooking, baking space.

So far so good

I've had this stove for about 3 months now. I've owned other versions of GE's double oven/stove range. I like this one the best so far. I'm glad they went with the straight griddle. My last one had curved sides and so therefore the burners were curved, and so it heated things unevenly, which was annoying. This design resolves that issue. The double ovens are great. I mostly use the top oven for every day cooking. The bottom oven is good for larger items. Though it is lower to the ground the racks are adjustable so it's really not that bad. The only one thing I don't like it about is that the timer sound is not very loud and I don't always here it as well as my last oven. I use the timer on my microwave though and it's fine.
