Disappointing Product

From a human-factors perspective, this unit is poorly designed. The pushbutton keys require too much pressure to engage. The different key functions are difficult to locate - they all look the same. The view into the window when operating is impossible for my wife who is 5'2" tall. The screen in the front glass obstructs lower viewing angles. We preferred our previously owned GE over-the-range microwave oven. This one cost more and has a lower performance. After a couple of weeks, we wanted to return it and get a refund. The supplier refused our request.

Much smaller than other GE profiles

While my current GE Profile, I was advised that the one I was purchasing would be a match on the interior space. Much to my surprise it's smaller and certain dishes do not fit.

Reliability Need Improvement

We bought the microwave oven and it was installed in December. By January, the speaker was already broken so the beep sounded very strange. Part ordering was fast and technician came out to install new door was very efficient. He actually told us to save the old door for spare part since the cable that goes from the oven to the door malfunctioned quite often. The engineering department could talk to the technician in the field to find out what caused the most repair and improve on that design.

Had a microwave with the vent fan that was the only fan meaning it ran whenever the microwave was turned on. This microwave has 2 fans much quieter, works great

Nice look, needs improvement

The “buttons” require a lot more pressure than you’d think. Especially considering that my pant-leg selects buttons on the Profile Dishwasher which is pretty annoying too.
The surface light warms the interior of the microwave! I mean darn hot and this is without using the cook surface below.
It doesn’t appear to really vent out the top as it steams up the front door with or without the fan-plus the fans are LOUD.
Occasionally the fan will NOT shut off despite cycling through the speeds and the cook surface being cool. It requires me to use a stool to climb above the cabinet to unplug it.
It doesn’t help that the installer didn’t level the unit, causing the door to knock me in the head if it doesn’t latch properly.
Steam settings overcook everything , as does potato.
Overall I’m disappointed.
