Buy a different brand

Sorry, but this thing is absolute garbage in our opinion. The entire front face functions as the door and is unnecessarily massive - way too big even for our large-sized kitchen. The "touch sensitive" buttons have to be mashed hard to get anything to happen. The worst part is we got a lemon and it's been 3 months and counting of GE playing games instead of just replacing it right from the start. Super p.o.'ed about this and our feeling now is we'll never buy another GE kitchen appliance again.

Not a reliable microwave

The microwave was installed new when we built our home in 2019. Between then and now (April 2024) it needed to be repaired three times due to electrical shorts on the door which would trip the breaker to the microwave. It finally needed to be replaced this month. Thankfully, we purchased an extended warranty that covered much - but not all - of the replacement cost. The replacement is another GE Profile microwave. We would have purchased a different brand of microwave had we been able to locate one with the same dimensions as the Profile.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Blows internal fuses

Blows internal fuses. This unit is now 3 years old and already out. Our unit we purchased when we built our home lasted 15 years … product reliability is not up to par for this costly unit.

I have had this product for less than a year and it has broken! So disappointed! I have only used GE and all my other appliances have lasted years. So I have been replacing all with GE and this one just died.... I ordered a filter hoping it would fix it... I am so frustrated!

I purchased this model in 2016 and am now replacing with the same model. I love the features, express cooking, defrost, etc. I'm so happy I was able to find this model again in 2024!
