The microwave has a nice clean appearance and functions well. Sometimes its difficult to see the letters on the controls depending on the light in the room. When operating, the fan vent is relatively quiet compared to previous microwaves.

The updraft vent with the multiple settings is a great improvement to providing over range venting. The large size handles anything we need to microwave. The power settings are so much more powerful than our previous microwave leading to faster heating and cooking times. And the installation was quick and fit seemlessly into the cabinetry we had. All said would recommend this unit to all.

Nice unit with only few quibbles on configuration.

This replaces two previous Profile Microwaves. Installation was almost a breeze, however, would have been so if the required mounting holes in the base of the wall cabinet the unit is hung from were the same location. The cabinet floor is beginning to look like swiss cheese after supporting two previous microwaves. Also the wall bracket mounting points did allow the use of our original "u" shaped mounting bracket with the removal of extra tabs instead of having to be removed and replaced with the single strip bracket that came with the new unit.
We use the microwave for "basic" functions, reheating etc., and defrosting, other functions are rarely used. The only complaint is that this unit has a "thick" door, which limits the amount of swing because it hits the knob of the cabinet next to the hinged side of the door so the door will only open about 70 degrees instead of 90 degrees.
Have to get used to the controls which are now spread across the width of the door instead of a on a vertical panel next to the door.
Hopefully the unit will follow the trend of increasing service life we have experienced with its two predecessors.

OVERALL - GOOD (but Vent Not Preferred)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] PROs - Beautiful, Sleek, matches perfectly with like-colored GE stovetop and dishwasher appliances. Very spacious. Quiet. Pre-set settings are useful. Installation was simple enough (instructions were easy-to-follow).
CONs - Vent fan on top. This is my first microwave with the vent fan on top, but I assume it is a common design. So my CON might not be a legitimate gripe. Maybe Idk what Im doing. But when Im cooking on stove top and steam rises.... having the vent fan on top of microwave doesnt help much. I MUST turn the fan on HIGH to make a difference. BUT... bcuz the fan pulls the steam in over top, it super fogs up the front of the mirlcrowave! A lower setting on this microwave's vent fan will allow the steam from stove top to escape and set off smoke/fire alarm. My previous microwave had a bottom vent fan that sucked in the steam as I was cooking on a low setting
I would recommend this to a friend!

We would like to clarify some information regarding the vent fan of your microwave. The fan intake is located underneath the microwave, right above your cooktop. This means it is designed to pull in steam and smoke from your cooking area.
If the fan isn’t performing well on lower settings, we recommend always using a higher setting during heavy steam cooking. This model features up to 4 venting speeds from low to Boost. Not built to last.

New machine is louder than the 12 year old GE that it replaced. Also the door sounds like it is rubbing against the plastic surround when it is opened. It is very annoying.
