Best to wash and dry your dishes by hand.

I bought this dishwasher and my two desires were that it be simple and that it dry very well. The GE dishwasher I had was very old and no longer drying. I purchased this new one and I wasted my money... The dishwasher requires the use of a drying agent or else it doesn't even attempt to dry. The cycle takes over 4 hours which keeps me from doing laundry or anything else that requires hot water while it runs. Needless to say I have to run it in the middle of the night since I do not have the luxury of waiting 4 hours for this thing to run. The silverware tray on the door is a nightmare. It gets caught with the bottom tray and you have to insert your silverware in it while it is laying down on the open door... very awkward. Even after rinsing the dishes well before washing it does not remove the marks of the food that was on the plate. I have to run my hot water at the sink before I start to run the dishwasher... Be prepared to wash all your plastic containers by hand... it will not dry them at all. I am running it with the Heated Dry and Sani option as suggested but have tried multiple things to no avail. You have to tickle and massage this thing for it to do a bad job at what it was meant to do. Do not waste your money on this or you too will be towel drying your dishes. The only good thing I can say about it is that it is quiet, good thing since I have to run it at night. I have been informed that all GE dishwashers run the same way... buyer beware!

Within a month started leaking

Within just a month of usage, it started leaking from bottom left corner. This is unexpected from a new unit. It should not have happened at-least for couple of years.

I liked the GE dishwasher that I was replacing better because this one has a redesigned interior which holds a much smaller load, the silverware basket is smaller and tends to get pulled off when you pull out the lower main rack to load dishes and it doesn't dry nearly as well as my old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
