1.5 Yrs. Old........Doesn't work

This dishwasher came with our new condo and after 1.5 years, the dishwasher will not turn on. There is power to the machine as I can hear the control panel clicking. Seems to be a low end priced unit. To fix or not to fix?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Racks are trash. Will rust within a year.

racks rust and disintegrate to a sharp mess, leaving falling shards in the dishwasher. Complete trash design made with the cheapest of materials. takes hours to run a load of dishes. makes annoying sounds that cannot be turned silent.

It’s a piece OS.

This dishwasher came with our house and has been nothing but issues. It doesn’t clean the dishes thoroughly and half the time it won’t even start. It just gives you 3 infuriating beeps every 30 seconds until you fiddle and push enough buttons to make it work. 0/10. Would not recommend. Would love to replay the “Feels Good to be a Gangsta” scene from Office Space with it.

Falling apart from the inside out
on January 23, 2021

Our dishwasher is 4 years old and the inside racks have rusted through. Conveniently enough, the replacements are consistently out of stock. The company has learned that the previous materials would not hold-up and have since made a change to the structure and finishing products to reduce the speed of which the rack will rust. I am a pre-wash dishwasher user so the 4 hour wash cycle works fine most times. My family will reconsider GE in the future.

Hi FloriFam23! We're sorry that the racks in your dishwasher are rusting. We see how this can be frustrating since the replacement racks are temporarily out of stock. The upper rack is part number WD28X25018 and is estimated to be back in stock on March 8, 2021. You can find the rack online at this link: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/WD28X22626

The lower rack is part number WD28X26099 and is estimated to be back in stock on February 4, 2021. You can find it online at this link: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/WD28X22659

Stay safe!

Stop working after only 3 years
on January 26, 2021
Posted by: Himechan
I only used this for about 3 years.
Used it gently 1-2times a week.
It’s stopped working all the sudden and I am so disappointed.
When we close the door it thinks the door is open and beeps 3 times.
Can’t make it start working anymore.
Bought new door latch parts and replaced it but still not working.
Didn’t want to go through anymore trouble buying new parts for it and doesn’t work.
So we just gave up.

Only last 4 yrs! Really??
on February 2, 2021

I purchased this dishwasher 4 yrs ago, have had several service calls, several for latch replacement and now for User Interface Board replacement. The unit has been down for months. Now I am being told it may not be worth continuing to service, after 4 yrs? Really, that's how long I can expect a GE appliance to last?

The racks quickly deteriorated
on April 20, 2021

We purchased our dishwasher in 2018 and within 4 months the bottom rack which is metal with a poly type covering began to rust and break off and have continued up to the present. Now the top rack is doing it as well. We've been looking to purchase new racks but the cost of the rack we could buy a new dishwasher. The dishes don't set up properly because of the lack of prongs to hold them in place. Its a bit frustrating and I don't think it's healthy to have bits and flakes of rust inside the dishwasher after each wash.
