cleans, but frustrating features

I bought this unit in August, and have used it about 5 months. It cleans well if you pre-rinse the dishes before loading, but the cycle is very long. I've found it is best to turn off the heated dry and open the door as soon as the tone signals the end of the wash cycle. Then shake the water off the tops of cups etc. and let them air dry. It takes much less time this way, and you can get the inevitable 2nd load ready sooner. Clean the filters at least once a week to stop grit being left on your dishes. When you pull out the fine filter, you can see cloudy, gritty water beneath it. The design of the racks causes this unit to have a much smaller capacity than my previous unit. My husband once asked, "How would a larger family get by with such a small, slow dishwasher?" They would do a lot of hand washing, just like I have to do now.The top rack wires are too far apart to stably hold small juice glasses. I have to put them between wider glasses to keep them upright. I put tall glasses in the corners with the flip-down rack down to wedge them upright. Only very wide-mouthed glasses are stable on the wide grid. The bottom rack design defies logic. Half of the posts are too far apart for smaller plates, and it doesn't accommodate larger items well. I don't even try to wash pots and pans in the unit because they take a high percentage of space. The bottom rack "derails" often as it is pulled out or pushed in and has to be realigned, a real nuisance if it is full and heavy. Another basket for holding kitchen tools/small gadgets would have been nice. Although there are slots in the silverware basket that are supposed to keep silverware from nesting, I find that spoons still have be loaded in non-adjacent slots to get them clean. Remove the silverware basket after every load to clean out the debris that gets trapped behind it. Also, be careful how you load forks because they may get caught on the lower rack as it is moved in and out. I believe that these energy saving dishwashers result in more water usage because of the amount of rewashing by hand that I need to do, the increased amount of hand washing needed because of long cycles and less space, and the pre-rinsing/soaking I often have to do to ensure dishes come out clean. Finally, the unit doesn't come with a decent instruction manual, just a piece of paper with basic info, so you'll need internet access to learn more about the unit. This is not good for the old folks I know who aren't comfortable online.

Not satisfied with the dishwasher. It takes too long to complete a cycle. It makes a lot of noise. Both upper and lower racks are poorly designed. Larger plastic container are hard to place in the upper rack. The lower rack does not fit smaller plates well. The utensil containers are in an odd place, hanging on the front of the lower rack. Regret buying this item. Better than not having one.

We went shopping for a dishwasher and decided upon this model as a middle of the road item with the right features and price. Once we set the settings it was smooth sailing as far as the washing was concerned. At the end of the cycle at night we just open the door for the dishes to dry and cool off.

Effectively washes the dishes but I am not fond of the utensil holders, liked our old one better. My wife never is sure how much rinsing agent to put in...it seems bottomless. We like how quiet it runs.

Not the best washer I've had
on January 17, 2018

Bought this about a year ago. It never really cleans well unless on the HEAVY setting which means a LONG wash time. And will only really clean if dishes are pre washed. Waste of water.
