Not doing it's job

We have had our GE Slate dishwasher about 18 months. All the slate appliances are attractive & we often get compliments from visitors. I do love the look without so many smudges. However, the goal is to efficiently wash dishes & that doesn't happen. The recommended Cascade pods do not dissolve properly & sometimes it happens twice in a row. That's a huge waste of water (and we have high water prices in our area). Also, as others have mentioned, the wash cycles are long and loud. We use the delay start & wash around bedtime - never while we are trying to chat or watch TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The worst

Hands down the worst dishwasher I’ve ever owned. It’s exactly what you would expect from GE. There’s a very good reason their stock is down 60% in the last 3 years.

Cleans my dishes after use of Cinnabunns

Planned Obsolescence was too aggressive

The wash is adequate and got the job done most of the time. Not quiet. Definitely made to be a disposable dishwasher.
Moved into a new house (2020) with this dishwasher that was manufactured in 2017. When I moved in, there was A LOT of rust on both of the dish racks and missing pegs from excessive rust due to poorly applied vinyl coating. I paid for the replacement parts for the top and bottom racks because GE is supposedly a good brand, but those were also poorly made.
In 2023, the heating element died. With the money I've sunk in to repairing this thing I could have just bought a new one and been better off.

Super easy install and quiet

I have only used the dishwasher twice, so still getting used to it! I feel like my dishes are so much cleaner than washing them in the sink!!
