Designed Beyond Expectations

This dishwasher replaced another brand that failed miserably after 5 years of light usage. Having been content with the old unit until it failed, I wasn't sure what to expect from this mid-priced GE. Let me just say, WOW, what a difference. The designing that went into this machine is incredible. The stemware racks double as chop stick holders, the silverware basket can either be placed on the door or lower rack and a second convenience basket Is provided for things such as small lids, spatulas and cooking utensils, Both baskets even give the option of standing silverware /cooking utensils upright via slots on the lid. So far, every piece of stemware has come out clean using the door position and just tossing them in- - that can’t be said about my old one. The GE also washes at a much higher temperature and the dishes actually come out dry! The controls are easy to understand, the noise level while slightly higher than more expensive units is unobtrusive. The handle and door are solid and the 3 dimensional GE logo is a classic. This unit packs the punch giving you everything from the more expensive GE models except for the stainless steel interior and goofy bottle jets. The only con I have are the sometimes challenging tines in both racks. My average, ordinary bowls don’t cooperate with them and I lose space for other things having to spread the bowls out further than desired. I also wish powering on/off was an option, not automatic by opening /closing the door. It gets annoying hearing the unit power up and the display light up when loading a glass or plate. I just don’t close the door anymore to till its time to actually run a load.

Love my dishwasher

I have been without a dishwasher for about 8 months. I have a family of 8 and I felt like I was spending my life hand washing dishes. It cleans the dishes well, dries them, it's pretty quiet. I like that it has a plug instead of having to hard wire it in like my last one. The only problem I have is the water inlet valve being made of plastic. It is so easy to strip if you're not careful.

My last dishwasher lasted 32 years, so the bar is high. However, this has been a much quieter and efficient machine!

The dishwasher has leaked from day 1. We have had someone out there times to work on it, but it still leaks.
