Poor durability from what was a good brand

Started replacing parts at 3 years old, still replacing parts and the racks are rusting through. First replaced door latch as machine wouldn't run, then main control board, now the recirculating pump...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not worth it at all

I have had this dishwasher for several years and the entire time I have had it, I have wished I had chosen something else. Regardless of what detergent and rinse aid used (I favor Cascade but have used Finish as well and tried a couple other brands as well) there are times dishes that were not even all that dirty going in (drinking glasses that had iced coffee or tea in them for example) will come out dirty and I run them again and they're still dirty, I'll try a third time and give up and just hand wash to finally get them clean. The biggest problem however is that the door latch sensor is constantly malfunctioning. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. It'll work fine for weeks or months then randomly it refuses to latch/register that the door is latched. I've adjusted the door, the hinges, verified everything is connected properly and the unit is level etc but it still refuses to work properly. I'll give up and just hand wash dishes for a few weeks and out of desperation at some point I'll try the dishwasher again and like magic it will be working again no issues - lather rinse repeat. I should have done more research before buying this as apparently this is a common problem with GE dishwashers regardless of whether it's one of the budget models like this one or a higher end one. I grew up with GE being known for being a high quality brand you could trust so I didn't really look into it much before I made the purchase. Lesson learned. I'll never be buying another GE dishwasher again - possibly no other appliances either. So frustrating and disappointed.

Don’t buy!

Would NOT recommend! We bought the whole set, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave 8 yrs ago and every one of them have had issues since the beginning! Our refrigerator still isn’t working properly (we have a second one that we are using for food because the GE one doesn’t get cool enough. And now our dishwasher isn’t working again! We thought we fixed it but then it broke again! Needless to say, we are DONE buying GE products!

Motor/Pump failure after only 4 years.

There is a loud clicking noise from the motor/pump. This model is only 4 years old and already failing and already no longer being sold by GE. It must be a lemon for sure! Stand by your products and make good quality products that last and you sell for years.

Racks rusted out not safe families

Seems to work fine however the upper and lower rack are rusting out bad. I have a daughter and I’m finding rust in her bottles and utensils. They don’t have the racks for sale either as it was replaced with another model number. Sad to see the rack quality so low.

Interior parts rusted after 2-3 years

Great capacity to hold days worth of eating. Very quiet even in an open kitchen. Installation was handled by home builder. Controls are very intuitive and great spectrum of wash cycles. Washes dishes really well but after 2-3 years the interior drawers that hold dishes, cups, bowls, etc. all started to rust as the gray coating wore off. The rust staining is now on almost all of our white ceramic plates, bowls, and coffee mugs. No leaking and has not ever needed other parts replaced. Has trouble with heated dry actually drying cups on top so usually leave those on counter after cycle to fully dry. Overall a 2/5 as this has performed below our expectations with 2.5/3 being an average expectation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

cleans but too noisy

Used it for 4 years worked fine but suddenly it is now so noisy we cant talk in the kitchen. seems like the motor has started a high pitched whine.
