Good access to Netflix ,Youtube and PBS

Great for Netflix ,Youtube and PBS, but Hulu is limited for CC and other languages. I discussed at length with technical that Hulu has required captions on Roku, but with other apps i.e IPad or Internet, they are optional.
The depth or quality of the other channel apps is disappointing, especially history and CNBC. Sling was disapointing for its depth as well.
Conclusion: not a replacement for Cable, but a good supplement.

Roku-4 Works Great with Acorn TV

I've tried accessing Acorn TV with my Sony Bravia "smart?" TV; Amazon Fire; Apple TV; and streaming from by iPhone 6 plus with a direct HDMI input. None of them worked or if so, worked very poorly. Lots of problems of various types. But once I set up Roku 4 it was like watching regular TV. None of the typical problems have been encountered. Roku 4 has been the most stable platform that I have had.

The only draw back is that the ROKU 4 gets very hot. We have it so air can circulate under it. Otherwise my 4th ROKU (a 2, 2 - 3's now a 4 ) purchase and it's very good!

Have tried a few media streaming devices and this is by far the best. So many channels to choose from! My only complaint is it would be great if there was a way to control the TV with the Roku remote, mainly volume.

Great Resolution 4k but freezes up...

I really like the Roku devices. Have 3 Roku 3 and now Roku 4. The Roku 4 has great resolution but suffers from growing pains. It often freezes the picture and the only way to get it going again is to do a reboot. Please do a software update to fix these problems.

Trouble ...

I've had 2 Roku 2's and a Roku 3 that worked perfectly. At first, I was really happy with the Roku 4 but over the last couple of weeks, the audio has gone out of sync with the video and is now a noticeable and irritating delay. This happens on both Amazon Prime and Netflix streaming. I spent an hour on the phone with Roku tech support but nothing helped. I still have my Roku 3 and it works fine and I also have an Amazon Fire HD that works well, too. I had these units on other TVs and installed them back with my main TV so I have an A/B/C comparison: Only the Roku 4 has the issue. Roku Tech support promised to send me an email to arrange return and replacement of the unit but did not. I'm going to dig up the receipt and take it back to Best Buy this weekend. I am not wildly optimistic; on line search shows others with the same issue and no fix available.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have Roku-4, Apple TV, and Sony Blue Ray player with Wi-Fi. Apple TV remote is very hard to work with (slippery and too small to handle comfortably). Sony Blue Ray player seems to operate slower. I find myself always using the Roku-4 because it is just easier and faster to work with.

I am pleased with your ROKU 4. The size and specially the unexpected weight were a surprise. What about the people who have TV sets hanging from the wall? I still don't have one of the fancy super HD sets, but even so the color of the image is great. This must have reached an end point. I don't see how the color and the image could improve much. I credit ROKU for offering so many free channels. You are a great help to enthusiastic cable cutters and represent the future. A proposal: the system you have for writing emails and subscriptions is a pain. Could you not put a little keyboard on the screen?
