Disappointed so far

Apparently its still early days for the Roku 4 roll-out. I have found almost no help on the Roku website. None of the suggestions/FAQs seem to be for the "4". I had a "2" that I've loved for years. I had to get twice as fast a WiFi from Comcast to even get it to work reliably. I still can't get any channels to open and run except Netflix. It won't even run Roku's own channels. Unless you want the challenges associated with being an early adopter, I would stick with an older model.

Didn't work out for me

Purchased this to be able watch tv shows that are stored on my PC. The Roku 4 didn't come with this ability right out of the box. Had to install a program on it and my PC which was extra hassle. Once I did have it setup it didn't work very well. Also, my Roku had a physical issue with it, it would randomly shut off and turn back on every few minutes. I promptly returned the unit to the store for a refund. I also own a Western Digital Tv Live Hub and this unit is FAR better and easier to work with. Does everything out of the box with no playing around with to make work.

I bought this a week ago and am not pleased. It will not accept my password and will not allow access to the free (stations) trials before buying. Had to reset my password. Having to insert my e-mail and password for every selection is tedious.

I bought this a month and it glitches constantly and has problems running the sling app. This is our second roku 4 as we returned our first, thinking it was bad and this one has the same issues. We own other roku se players and have no problem. The standard boxes are hooked up wirelessly and the 4 is hard wired. I hard wired it thinking that that was the problem but still the problem persists. I am debating returning it and replacing it with another roku se that is far cheaper and appears much more reliable.

Does not work for 4K

The Roku 4 that I just purchased does not work with my brand new 4K Samsung TV. It will not allow me to select the 4K video option for my TV because it says that the HDMI input does not meet DHCP 2.2. Both items are brand new & they will not work together. There are many articles online that describe this issue. Roku needs to get it resolved.

Awesome device, BEATS ROKU 1 -3. Cancel Cable/Satt

It's not only faster. In many reviews the part I am missing is the SOUND. There is an output on the back which can connect to your sound system! The Dolby Surround is amazing! Lot's of good other features.
Also the faster wireless option is good to have.
Cancel your cable/sattelite subscribtion because once you sign up with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon you get most of what you already had (plus a lot more!) and save big time. The three mentioned are around $26 / month. You get live shows the next day (American Idols etc.)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Roku4 Constant Buffering Issues
on February 14, 2016

Purchased Roku4 hoping to get access to additional channels. Roku 4 continues to have excessive buffering issues even after I upgraded to highest internet speed available from AT&T. Hard to watch as excessive buffering interrupts channel programming. Not what I expected for the price.

I would not on the 4K. I have a 4K and I guess a 2013 is to old for the new 4K hook ups.it says it needs a 2.2 port. If I would of now that at first I would have never bought the new one. It would of been nice to have it say something on the side to let me now.
