Too much to talk about

I've only had my new Roku two weeks. I also have the Roku 2-3 that are on other tvs in the house. My apple tv2 never gets used anymore, it's as slow as a brick compared to the Roku 3, the 4 forget about it. The speed is unbelievable, no more buffering. Only complaint is I wish I could get iTunes on Roku so I could threw the Apple TV threw the window.. Great job Roku, hold your heads up high on this one!!!

remote problems

I have two Roku 3's and the performance is excellent. I purchased two Roku 4's Initially the first one worked fine but within a few hours access and control from the remote stopped completely. I've returned it and requested a replacement. The second Roku 4 also worked well initially. However, now (2 days later) the remote loses contact after the unit sits dormant for more than 30 minutes. If I reboot, contact is reestablished. Very annoying. I worry I'm going down the same path with the second Roku 4.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I connected the Roku 4 to my Samsung smart TV, that is a 4K TV. The TV also has Netflix built in. The Netflix in the Roku 4 streams 100% better! The 4K streaming is very crisp...really happy with this device!

New dimension in TV viewing!

I've read about the fan problems and waited for 3 weeks to order my Roku. It was back ordered over a week, I assume that the company was fixing the problem.
About two years ago I bought the 3rd generation Apple TV. It was fine at first, the needed reset whenever I went to use it. Finally 6-7 months ago it quit resetting. That's why I didn't go apple 4th gen.
This unit does so much more, it is the beginning of my independence from satellite TV and cable. It's fast and has improved the quality of my 1080. The remote voice search is accurate and fast.
With tv cast I can mirror my iPad to the Roku television. I am very happy with this unit. Oh and no overheating and/or fan noise.

Blew me away!

Upgraded from the Roku2 XS and the difference is night and day! It operates much more smoothly, shows don't take nearly as long to buffer, and there's no lag for the high definition feeds to "catch up". Simply amazing!

ROKU has minor glitches

picture has a grainy look sometimes . a flash or jerking in the video or color bands
flash across the bottom of picture . I do have it adjusted to proper
settings . I like the Roku 3 better . maybe their will be software updates to solve
these issues . the video does seem better at times . these observations are based on Netflix, we watch Hulu it has similar issues . the ROKU 3 had none
